Britt Nicole: When She Cries Meaning
When She Cries Lyrics
She'd leave her room if only bruises would heal
A home is no place to hide
Her heart is breaking from the pain that she feels
[CHORUS]
Every day's the same
She fights to find her way
She hurts, she breaks, she hides, and...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think it is about a girl who is so ashamed of herself, she resorts to cutting or any kind of selfharm.I don't think it is about abuse at home or being bullied at school. It doesn't have to be abuse or bullying. She could be really hating herself and she doesn't want to leave her room because she doesn't want anyone to notice the bruises the cuts leave. And home might not be a place to hide because her parents will notice someday and/or she tries to block put the pain inside her when she is at home, but she can't. So it is no place to hide for her. Abuse and Bullying is very horrible and no one should ever go through it, but hating yourself, not liking the way you look or not liking anything about yourself, thinking you are not worth it, being anxious and depressed because of it, not being able to turn you mind off and having your heart break because of it... that is also very horrible. So just try to have an open mind!

The song most likely has nothing to do with family abuse or bullying. The song indicates that the little girl is struggling with her mental health/spiritual life. She doesn't know how to handle the pain, so she numbs herself by creating cuts and bruises on her flesh. Every day is the same for her, because she wakes up from her daydream and realizes that she has extremely low self-esteem and is struggling with herself. The song is also a message that God is watching you, and that he knows what's really going on despite of the girl's self-hatred. I think what the song is trying to prove is that there are people out there who have personal issues that have been unrevealed. Such as suisidal thoughts, nobody is willing to shout to the world that they have suisidal thoughts ( unless they're an attention seeker or someone forces them to). But for someone so insecure, the song is letting them know is that we can smile on the outside, but that never defines how we truly feel on the inside.

I think this is about a Depressed teenage girl. She is hurting deeply inside, and she hits herself to make the pain go away, so the bruises show on her arms. She hides in her room to get away, to make sure no one sees the bruises; her bedroom is her fortress. On day, she grabs a knife and starts cutting. She finds that as the blood runs, it feels good, it looks good, and she likes it. So she continues until scars lace up her arms. On her sixteenth birthday, she looks around her family living room and can’t smile, because they didn’t look hard enough to see the pain. She wore long sleeves, only, but they didn’t care enough to notice this. So she retreats to her room to get relief, and pretend that nothing has happened...

It's about a girl who is being emotionally abused by her parents but they don't realize they are doing anything, and it doesn't stop so she feels trapped and self-harms to get relief from the constant pain she feels inside. She feels like no one in the world understands how she feels when really God understands and is there for her.

I think this song means she feels dead on the inside and no one hears her when she cries and in the end god finally hears her and now she knows he hears her so she’ll be ok.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I think the song is about a depressed daughter who cuts her self and her home isn't a place to hide because her father is extremely abusive and drunk so she cannot hide there and her family is acting like every thing is fine and like they love each other and they just ignore her self harm and the fact that she's abused and bullied. In the end of the song when it says "She'll be just fine because now he hears her when she cries" means that her father is now hearing her crying and notices what he has done wrong and I'd just wish that Britt Nicole will make a part 2 to this song so I know what happens after he finally opens his eyes.

It’s a song about abuse
-
Well it says "How could they act like everything is alright" so it could mean she lost someone close to and she's getting bullied on top of that and she's self harming. Or it could be she was abused and taken out of the situation and everyone else wants to help her by acting like nothing's wrong but it's only making her worse.

The girl is getting hurt by her boyfriend so now she is standing up to him but he coming back and her friends now this is happening to her but they dont do anything so she blocks everyone out and them it just turns into sadness and then her ex boyfriend comes back and does not hurt her anymore so now she feels like her life is ok.

I think it is about a girl like me who feels so many emotions she becomes depressed and starts to cut. She feels know one knows how she feels and how she is dead in side but honestly she is god is watching her and feels her pian.

after listening to this song many times, I believe that the song is about a girl that is having a very hard time dealing with bullying and other issues and she has resorted to cutting herself and self harm to make herself feel much better and fill that hole of hurt that she feels exists. She is always wondering why she is always feeling so alone and never given the help that she needs and she feels as if her cries are unheard by everyone. When she says "a home is no place to hide" she could mean that the bullying has followed her home through the internet and cyber bullying and she feels like she has no escape. She is trapped in constant taunts and comments that causes her to do what she does. It creates a mood that makes people think about what is going on with people and giving them the hope that there is always someone there for you no matter what. There is always help and nothing is impossible for you or wrong with you. ♥️

In the song it says she'd leave her room if only bruises would heal I think she had a bad past and she can't leave because it reminds her. And she struggles and her family and everyone else doesn't see or hear her pain and she thought the only way to solve it was by cutting herself to try and wash away the past but it doesn't work then realized that God is watching over her and that things will happen for a reason and not to be afraid that he will help her get through it .

This really is a great song, inspirational, has a great point, just amazing. For what I see in it is yes she does use self harm to deal with her emotions, to try to feel, I understand it, I have friends who used to so I know what it's like, like a comment I saw said "she thinks no one hears her, but The Lord does and he helps her through her pain," I won't say right or wrong bc of religious purposes but I do believe that he does heal, he does hear you, but again I don't want to preach on about it, (again for religious purposes and well the length of this comment) also I saw another comment that talked about speaking up to bullying, I like that, I understand how it feels, maybe not to that extream, but I do understand, and that person who wrote that comment great job, we are here to help, you can be that voice that could possibly save a life, be the change the world wants to see, be that person, be that friend, we can put an end to bullying, we all know what's it's like, so as another lyrics from a different song would say "come on dry your eyes meet me on the other side run as fast as you can and we'll make it out alive, you know better now you don't have to live like this, go tell them we don't have to live like this." (Icon for hire:get well) so before this becomes longer than I meant it to be just know that we're here if you need anything. Ps. Sorry I got off subject.
