Good Girl Lyrics

#1 top rated interpretation:This song is about Carrie trying to advise a "good girl" against dating her ex. She actually sounds quite bitter and harsh; she's not exactly breaking it to the other girl gently. Lines such as "His lips are dripping honey but he'll sting you like a bee. So lock up all your lovin' oh and throw away the key" and "It's just a matter of time. 'till you find, He's no good, girl, no good for you, you better get to getting on you''re goodbye shoes and go, go, go, baby listen to me he's low, low, low." Prove how brutal she's being.
The first few times I heard this I thought that this was all to this song... However, after seeing the video I got another idea.
Maybe Carrie is actually the "good girl" and a part of her is telling herself what Carrie doesn't really want to acknowledge and is ignoring. That he's no good.
The lines "Why? Why you gotta be so blind? Won't you open up your eyes" convinces me of it. (:
Hope I helped.... I love this song! -

#2 top rated interpretation:The meaning I got from this song was a little different. I think this is her talking to her past self. As though she almost wishes she could have gone back and warned herself that falling in love with this guy would turn out to be "no good" for her.
It's as if she's scolding herself for being 'blind' to everything he would eventually do to her. And she can see it now that she thinks back on it.
That's my theory anyways! Great song! :) -

#3 top rated interpretation:I think in the song, Carrie is in love with a guy who she knows is bad for her and she trying to get herself to realize he is no good.

This song is the best its so good I love listening to it In my ear pods when I go on a road trip to anywhere I made a playlist of all her songs I like and I listen to it on road trip so I don’t have to listen to my baby siblings crying and fighting over my moms phone I turn it up and listen to it the whole car ride

I think it's a sequel to Before He Cheats, another Carrie Underwood song. In the song, Carrie Underwood gets revenge on her ex for cheating, saying that if he's learned his lesson, he won't cheat again. However, I think Good Girl is her thinking, "well, that won't be enough". She somehow might have seen signs of him cheating on his current girlfriend, so she was trying to warn his gf before she had to go through the same pain that she did.

I honestly am not a big fan of Country Music. And this song is obviously Pop Rock
There’s no country in this song. If you think otherwise then you’re delusional. And I know she said she’s a huge fan of Rock. I hope she does less Country and more Pop Rock. Maybe make an all Rock album. -
i like this song. But i wouldn't say it's Country or has any Country to it. It's just Pop Rock. And honestly, i'm not a big country fan. I would prefer that she does more pop rock since she has mentioned that she loves rock music.

this song is wild. I love this pop rock song. Carrie Underwood is the best!! One of my favorite songs of hers. I love it when she does more pop rock. i don't mind country music but i prefer rock.

They like to say they wrote this. The music is theirs. The words are me. Poseidon. I mistook her manager for an older boyfriend. I tryed to break her up even though she was a stranger to me. I tryed to be friendly to her but forceful. He was close by. So I had to be quick. She signed. Go figure. Blown away.was my next attempt at showing her an example of bad choices. She came back many times. Alone. Those love songs are me trying to impress her. She was bored. Then I told her a story about my aunt and a funeral. Two black caddies.

Why does this girl be blind because this guy is a dirty cheat. Carrie is singing about how this guy is bad and the girl isn't listening.
-
Carrie Underwood is telling herself about this guy that she knows is bad but one part of her thinks he'll change but the part of the Girl who says he's no good for you is right and the other part girl is just tiring to change something that will never change. She may be looking at a relationship after it's over and done with and see what I would tell myself now if i could.

I think that she is trying to tell herself that he is not good for her. Take this for example:
So, Alex, a "bad boy" has just asked the perfect sweet Aly out. She secrectly likes him but she is trying to convince herself that he is bad so she can reject him.
So its pretty much like the devil/angel bit they use on tv as a comedy bit (one on each shoulder) and the bad half is telling her, in a not so nice way, that he is "low, low, low."
-Hope this helped <3 -
