Cartel: Settle Down Meaning
Settle Down Lyrics
The two were locked in a heated dispute,
'Cause he was gone when she needed him more.
Then she could really ever let on to.
They were the poster perfect high school sweethearts,
But moving out can...

I used to listen to this song a lot and I always thought it was a about a young couple that have been together for a long time, obviously through high school, but life and all it's problems finally caught up to them. They've probably just graduated and now really don't know what to do.
'The two had spent it on working it out and
Everybody knew that they were out of their minds.'
i believe this lyric is talking about how they're trying to figure out how to live their lives as adults together with the shock of being out of school.
the guy is moving on and doing things that include his girlfriend,so they're splitting apart gradually and it's not healthy for her to stay.
wonderful song. -
I think this song is about two highschool sweethearts. They were "poster perfect" meaning that they looked like the perfect couple. But-in reality- they were everyhting but. They had a fight because the women in this relationship thought he was gone too much. After highschool, they tried to work things out, but they couldn't. Despite efforts, the women couldn't move on from the love of her life(the man int his relationship). He moved on quickly and never thought twice of the girl. The narrator is telling the girl later on in the song that she should forget about the man and move on.
