Songs about Faith
You don't need religion to have faith. You can have faith in a person, a nation, an ideal, or yourself. Faith is a noble thing to have - it's a conviction, right or wrong, that's usually a sign that you at least care enough about something to have an opinion in the first place.
Likewise, not all of these songs are about religious faith, although that's certainly a present theme. Some are about a non-specific spirituality, whether it's belief in the good of mankind, the benevolence of the universe, or a higher power not necessarily defined in some holy book. Faith is believing in what you have thin evidence for. Faith may be ill-founded or right on the mark. But the capacity for faith itself in people is a beautiful thing.
