Chelsea Grin: Desolation of Eden Meaning
Desolation of Eden Lyrics
They consume and hide the real truth to a superstitious fear and stitch the mouth of all who interfere,
You look into the world with blind...

To me, it's fairly simple. It starts out saying that you should just ignore what God says and do whatever you want that makes you happy. It's saying to disregard his rules and make your own for your benefit. But it says it in a deceptive and sneaky manner. "no one will find out" "nothing bad will ever come" then part way through they say "Or are these the words of a snake?" This is a reference to Satan in Genesis who lied to Adam and Eve when they were in the garden of Eden. After this line, the song mentions about how the person will now have to pay the price for their greediness much like Adam and Eve did in the story. The desolation of Eden came when they didn't follow the rules of God.

And also, Eden is his girlfriend lol

It's about not living life like a coward, though you are always told to an extent "do this and God will punish you" but are these the words of a snake? Who are they to tell you what to do and how to live, reason they're a snake is they're holding back from living your own life and who are they to tell you different. But be careful, for some choices can come back to bite you. So you be the judge and make your own choices, because ultimately it's you who has to take the responsibility for your actions. So be careful cuz you may have to pay the hard way

The song is about how through Christianity they tell you to live a certain way and do as they do or your condemned. He is trying to tell everyone to live the way they want and to do what makes you happy and to think for yourself. Towards the middle when he says "or are these the words of a snake", he's asking if he's wrong for thinking this way. This song isnt anti christian but i do think its anti relgion in the sense that some people use relgion as a excuses not to think for themselves and think anything bad is the devils fault and anything good is a blessing when everything you do is free will. He explains this at the end when he talks about bleeding. Your bleeding cause your alive and you are the one making your choices
-
I think it means that you should do what you love and do it often, and do what makes you happy and what you love, but once you do it, there will be a consequence.
-
I think its a song about right and wrong choice, And if you choose the way of the snake your suffer the choices of your mortality basicly saying whatever you do you'll have a consequence
-
I think this song is about not always worrying whether you'll be judged by god and just living your life the way you want it, with no regret.
-
Honestly i dont know exacly i think it is talking about living your life without worring about not going to heaven but then its like it is a myth so i dont know but its kinda confusing it is talking about being desolated
