Colbie Caillat: Try Meaning
Song Released: 2014
Try Lyrics
Get your nails done
Curl your hair
Run the extra mile
Keep it slim
So they like you. Do they like you?
Get your sexy on
Don't be shy, girl
Take it off
This is what you want, to belong
So they like you. Do you like...

#1 top rated interpretation:The song, “Try” by Colbie Caillat can be interpreted in many ways. Colbie and the rest of those in the music video play as those who have never fit in in life. They go out and try to look their best hoping that they will be able to fit in. They buy clothes, wigs, shoes and other things they may actually not like or need in order to look some type of way for the crowd or their friends, peers, classmates, etc.
Colbie Caillat shows girls and others that they don’t have to try to be someone they are not. They do not need all those extra things, such as makeup, clothing they think may stand out or are in “style.” She shows people that they don’t have to worry about fitting in, because in their eyes they are considered better and more beautiful than they may see themselves as. Girls, females, mothers, should be themselves and not what the world wants to see them as or wants them to be.
The clothes, makeup, extra accessories hides who they really are and they don’t realize it. The media and magazines want you to look some type of way, making you forget who you truly are. -
The word try is in there 52 times in 3 minutes & 52 seconds. Talk about excessive! You can tell not a whole lot of thought went into this song. However, her other songs are decent.

Try to me feels like that I can be myself and I don’t need to stress about what people think of you

For me, the song "Try" has a very good meaning to it. Many women today feel conscious of how they look and how other people see them. The songwriter, Colbie Caliat, showed the world by using the power of music to show other women that it is ok to be yourself and to be you. The make up, false eyelashes, etc. hide the insecurities of the girl

This song is possibly about not following the idea of how the media or magazines say we should look. Everyone is perfect the way rhey are. "You don't have to bend until you break" basically means that you do not have to please someone who only cares about outward beauty and not who you are on the inside.

I think it is about a girl who wants to fit in so she try to look her best to fit in, but she is perfect the way she is because all you can do is your best and no matter how you look, you are perfect.

There is a girl, who has never fit in, and she trys to fit in. She goes out and looks her best, even though her best is her self. She buys clothes she probably most likely doesnt like, and she doesnt realize, she's perfect the way she is. Colbie Caillat is trying to tell all the girls out there like that, that they don't have to try or worry about fitting in, because they are perfect, and they should be themself not anyone else. The makeup and clothes hide who you truly are, and who wants to see the same person over and over again? I'm not saying they are the same person, or trying to be the same person. Instead of trying to fit into their crowd, be your own crowd. Forget what they are saying, go against it and hold your head high. I know it hurts, I've been there. Remember, turn that frown upside down. :)
