Eiffel 65: Blue (Da Ba De) Meaning
Blue (Da Ba De) Lyrics
About a little guy that lives in a blue world
And all day and all night and everything he sees
Is just blue like him inside and outside
Blue his house with a blue little window
And a blue corvette
And everything...

#1 top rated interpretation:i think why everything is blue is because everything is indifferent, its all the same and nothing is new. In that sense everything is dull and he is probably depressed. He even says blue are the feelings that live inside me, probably a hint he has like lifetime depression that's on and off or something. But definitely a song about depression. definitely why everything is the same color (and the color of sadness and depression) is because its all the same and everything is just "eh" not even his girlfriend is viewed differently than a tree by him.

#2 top rated interpretation:The meaning of the song is based on a single color and what it represents. Blue represents depression and how everything around you feels constant and unchanging. When he says his corvette is blue he is referring to having nice things in life but they do not make him happy. He also talks about this again when he says everything in his life is blue, everyone he sees, and even his girlfriend.

#3 top rated interpretation:the song is about literally turning the color blue. Eiffel 65 was tripping balls and thought it would be cool if they were blue...nothing more, nothing less

When I first heard the song and actually listen to the lyrics I knew that it was about depression. but then I decided to go even deeper into it and I really feel that the song is about a guy who has HIV/AIDS and was struggling with Depression because of it. Now on the "I'm blue Da Ba Dee..." It's seems to me that it is subliminally chanting"I'm blue I believe I been dieing, I believe I been dieing"... I don't know for sure but I'm convinced that could be it... Let me know if you feel the same or know what Da ba Dee is???
-
It sounds like if I were green I would die instead of da ba dee ba die
Well that's what I hear.
And I think that he sang the song because he has a good life but he is sad for some reason.
(Btw I love this song)
:3 -
I'm blue, I believe I will die
(Da be dee da be die)
I always heard this and frankly it's a little sad -
I know it said in aberdeen i will die that means that he will kill himself and that he has a condition were everything he sees is blue. now this is right yall are wrong
-
Its about opium
-
I think it's about somebody depressed, because blue is the colour of sadness. The fact that his whole world is blue means that he can't escape the depression and therefor, commits suicide: "I will bleed, I will die"
-
It's a suicide song... he's dead and now he's blue... everything is now dead.. im blue I OD and I died...lol that's what i remember from years back
-
If I were green
I would die
Thought it said that till now. 18 years later. -
Well, I think the little guy being blue means he's drunk..
-
It means he's blue or bruised and been beat up and died
-
I'm in need of a guy?
-
i think it literally means he lives in a blue world. The beginning of the song starts with about a little guy that lives in a blue world.Plus he has a blue corvette so i dont think he is sad. the da ba dee da ba die da ba dee da ba die i think is just sounds to make the song seem like it has different meanings. IT might just be so the song appeals to more people.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
It sounds like he is really saying " I'm blue, if I was me I would die"
-
i think that the peeps that say it is not da ba de da ba die are retarded
