It's in the Way That You Use It Lyrics

It's in the way that you use it
It comes and it goes
It's in the way that you use it
Boy don't you know
And if you lie you will lose it
Feelings will show
So don't you ever abuse it
Don't let it go
Nobody's right until somebody's...

Like just about every song it can mean something different to every person that hears it, but if I had to make a educated guess I would say it has two meanings... 1.) It's about love. How it comes and it goes depending on the way that you use it; don't take it for granted and not take it when it comes because it could be the one and only time it ever does. 2.) I think its about money. It comes and goes but how fast is up to you and the way you use it. Make the most of it or piss it away, but you cant work forever, and if you have a special talent, put it to use! Don't waste it. Hence why it was in "The color of money."

I find it is about love and trust in a relationship. Opportunity, even. Sometimes we find it is meant to be but we should never forget that a relationship requires constant investment on both sides.

Being your try self when authenticly loving someone. Partners always know when a pretenders "game" is up.

I think on one level it's about not wasting talent. That was the theme of "The Color of Money," anyway.
