Evans Blue: Erase My Scars Meaning
Erase My Scars Lyrics
The truth has been buried
Held down by the hand
That refuses to carry
The burden you built
The lies, do you hear me?
The insult, the white flag
You refuse to carry
I'm letting you go
And all that you showed me

This song is to a higher power, that they feel has gone too far. They're done with it and they're going their own way, because everything that they'd had burden them has finally broke them. They don't understand why this power has pushed them so far but they've had enough. They're saying that after they've gone that far they want to erase the scars of everything they've overcome. The particular trial that the singer is referring to is the death of his nephew from brain cancer, and the song is saying that it left scars and opened his eyes to the ruthlessness of the higher power (which the song is about, as said in an interview)
