What It's Like Lyrics
The hair on his face is dirty, dreadlocked and full of mange
He ask the man for what he could spare with shame in his eyes
Get a job you fuckin' slob's all he...

To me the lyrics are profound in their simplicity, and more than a touch biblical.
It's similar to the bible story of Jesus coming upon an angry mob surrounding a terrified woman. Jesus asked them what she had done?
She had behaved in a way that they found very offensive, and blatently sinful they told Jesus.
They decided they should stone her, and some began to gather up handfuls of rocks to use but Jesus stopped them, asking them if they couldn't offer her forgiveness if she repented, vowing that going forward she would with gratitude and repentence.
They continued to grumble, feeling she deserved the punishment but once more Jesus stopped them and said, "Hear my words, if there is one among you without sin, let he be the one to cast a stone.
We're all sinners. We all have our secrets...
I've seen a rich man beg...
I've seen a good man sin...
I've seen a tough man cry...
Not one man cast a stone at the woman, they dropped their rocks and walked away.
If you're doing well in life, enjoy it, be happy by all means but remember it can all be taken from you in the blink of an eye.
And be kind. Always. You never know what someone may be going through.

The song sounds like he's talking about how society judges people without ever having to face their problems
