    This song is about the difficulty of expressing your feelings to someone that you love. When Example says: "Say nothing, because your eyes do the talking" he means that he is trying to figure out what's on his love partner's mind. "So nice on the surface but somehow we burnt it" suggests that he got out of his personal bubble and went to talk to the person that he loves. "I can see you wanna talk but your tongue's tied up" suggests that his loved one is as anxious as he is about being the first one to talk. "Shut up pretend it's all perfect"means that he is telling his loved one to accept everything he says and stay calm about it.
