Example: Stay Awake Meaning
Stay Awake Lyrics
We'll be the leaders of a messed up generation
If we don't kid ourselves
Will they believe us if we tell them the reasons why
Did we take it too far?
Take it too far
Did we chase the rabbit into wonderland
Lose a...

The part about a war in the song is important. The general song is about how war and drugs have corrupted us and its too late to save our children. In the lyrics, it says "Spend A Hundred Grand (thousand), will they understand, it was all to stay awake the longest" This may represent 2 different things: Either people's excessive spending to stay alive, OR people's excessive spending on drugs like ecstasy to literally stay awake, which corrupts them. Honestly, te song seems to be about our corrupted dystopian society.

I think that they are trying to stay awake through means of taking drugs as Example says getting high on the oppostie of Nytol ya zimme

The first person who posted is closest to being accurate. The song is not about drugs, only a dumbass would think that... Staying awake because of drugs?
It says, if we don't kill ourselves we'll be the leaders of a messed up generation... and oh we will. Anarchy, death, war, disease, people starving, no access to fresh water, overly concerned about money and abstract non-important items... A world bound by walls and structures, artificial... a loss of what is truly beautiful.
When he speaks of 'did we...' etc., he doesn't mean himself - he means did 'society' take it too far, did we chase the rabbit too far into a fantasy non-realistic world. Searching for meaning in fake and worthless entities. Really, the first guy was right - we are blind to what is really going on, those who are awake have at least 'the best chance' to see all, but even they can't see what really happens...
The truth is, we really are in a messed up world, on the borders of a messed up generation. Soon, our world will be overrun by humans, billions of us, like mice, ants, vermon - we spawn and populate - we will lose all the beauty and natural serenity in our world.... It's sad. -
It's about taking ecstasy and raving. If u had taken it you would understand. It keeps u awake. Opposite of nytol. It gives u empathy with the other people around u, dance culture is a religion. Faith but no bibles. When u r on it u don't want it sleep, it's one long party and u want to stay awake the longest. U go to wonderland a different place. This is the first ectasy dance generation. Started in the 80's. The ones that don't overcook it and die will go on to be leaders of this messed up generation. Go look at the video. Has nothing to do with politics.
-
it just means that people in this generation are messing around and dont realise whats going on in the real world and if they continue this and if we dont kill ourselves our selves by doing stupid things we will become the leaders of a messed-up generation.

this is a look at how our generations are changing the 1st verse is saying that we now are the leaders of this messed up would and we have gone into a wonderland and cant see what we are doing wrong. "March on always after us
Lost troops, half the class of us
You man ain't seen the last of us
Stick around yeh like Elastoplast" this basicly means that we march on we make our mark if something goes wrong we wont sort it we stick a plaster on it. the we got faith but dont need bibles is referring to wars all the wars are over religion so this is saying we all got our own faith but without the bibles there no need to fight over it so end the wars. we get high on the oppersite of nytol is a sleeping drink so its saying we get high when we are a sleep and chase the rabbit into the wonderland deeper day by day. The overall meaning behind this song is if we keep on the way we are we will chase so far into the fake land and put so many plasters on the issue there will be no going back and we will be a really messed up generation with no hope and just wars -
i agree with the first comment , its seems more on the politics side rather than the drugs .. just because the rabbit in wonderland part most people refer that as a druggie movie he was probably just using that as an example

It reminds me of the film 'house on haunted hill' 5 people stay at a haunted house overnight and the ones who make it get £100,000 if they stay the night, but some people try to work out the misteries of the house and kill themselves OR get killed. THE ORIGINAL VIDEO IS ON YOUTUBE

I sense there is more to it than that. He says "we got faith but don't need bibles" at some point. What does he mean??
-
it really could be both. drugs and politics ;)
-
This song is about how younger and younger people are taking drugs like ecstasy just to get a buzz and push the boundaries. It's also asking whether music such as rave music, dubstep, grime etc. is the reason why people want to take drugs to 'feel the music'.
-
The song is about being aware of what is happening in the real world, the understanding of corupt leaders and the blindness of people, its the people that are awake that notices everything.
Do you want to follow the rabbit down wonderland?
Are you willing to search for the truth?
This song is to give hope to people
