I personally think the second verse is about the crusades. I remember laerning about them last year and just thinking, woah, this sounds like 20 dollar nose bleed... But then again the English lost... Kay, scratch that.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I heard somewhere that during WW2 they had Coke(the soda) but at the time it had something in them which made each case cost 20$. The substance in them made people get nosebleeds, hence the name 20 Dollar Nosebleed. Benzadrine is a drug in Ampetamine(if I spelled it right). Smoke rings obviously are from either cigarettes or marijuana joints. But basically you could say that this song is about a drug addiction.
-
It pretty much says it in the title... 20 dollar nose bleed... cocaine..."give me a pen call me Mr Benzedrine" a drug... "I wanna blow off steam"...then "when I look at the man who wouldbe king, the man who would be kind goes to a desert the same war his dad rehearsed, came back with flags on coffins and said we won, oh we won!" is talking about George W. Bush and how he did cocaine before
