Fall Out Boy: 7 Minutes In Heaven Meaning
7 Minutes In Heaven Lyrics
With anyone who will lie down
I'll be stuck fixated on one star
When the world is crashing down
I keep telling myself
I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type
But you've got me looking in...
-
That song is about Pete's attempted suicide.
-
The last person: thank you, now I understand the 7 part.
-
Ok well this song is about how Pete Wentz (one of the band members) nearly died. He ODed himself. and he was really depressed this song has absolutetly nothing to do with who he wants to sleep with or sex or love. It is about drugs. Patrick Stump (singer) saved him because Pete was showing up late for rehersals and leaving early without telling anyone, and he was sounding really wierd. Patrick knew that he was druging himself. So when Pete called him saying that he loved him very much, Patrick knew that he was about to kill himself so he saved him. He was in a comma for 7 minutes. He took drugs of ani-stressents. Pete now lives with his parents. He nearly died outside of a best buy. Pete's favourite store.
-
I did research on this song the other night. This song is really written about pete's over dose, Ativan. He was in the hospital for a week. He said, "I was isolating myself further and further, and the more I isolated myself, the more isolated I'd feel. I wasn't sleeping. I just wanted my head to shut off, like, I just wanted to completely stop thinking about anything at all." The suicide attempt was soon put into song form.
"I'm having another episode
I just need a stronger dose" -
Once again it's about Pete's suicide
-
Note to you all, it's about girls AND drugs. A song doesn't have to be about only one thing.
Anyway, it's mainly about drugs, with the side-thought of girls on his mind.
Atavan Halen. Yeah. It's in the song name. But, he's mainly saying, or more-so, this is what I think he's (Peter Wentz) saying.:
I need more pills, or anything to get my mind off her.
To get my mind off pressure. The band. Everyone realying (sp?) on me. [Or more so, he feels like that, even though, he has just the right amount of people hanging onto him].
He feels...more like...everything around his is too much.
Everything. This song is like, realying (sp?) on drugs about everything that's happening to him.
Maybe it was because fame came to quickly, and all those fans were too much (again) for him. Always near him. Everywhere he goes, he hears, "OhmyGod! It's Pete Wentz!"
You would get annoyed. Maybe not try a suicide attempt, but none-the-less, annoyed.
Peter himself tries things, to us, or me?, a little dirastic. (sp?)
Note: "I'm sleeping myself out of this one." [With anyone who will lie down]
No, that doesn't mean he's sleeping with a girl. Or many girls.
It means, he needs someone to be there for him, but no one's willing. [Not that kind of Ready And Willingness.]
"I'm having another episode,
I need a stronger dose."
^ Doesn't that just scream 'Yeah, No one's there for me, but I'm there for me, and I'm losing control, so let me pile up on pills."?
Now, to me, this is where the thought of girl(s) is.:
"I keep telling myself,
I keep telling myself,
I'm not the desprate type.
But you've got me looking through the blinds."
He wants her so badly, but he doesn't want to admit it to himself. So he secretly keeps an eye on her. [But it's all to stressful with her not liking him back, and he wants out.]
"Sitting out dances on the wall,
Trying to forget everything that isn't you."
Anyother girl part. But it has a hint of drugs.
Does anyone catch my drift? -
About 90% of you are RETARDED! Pete isn't desperate for a girl, he's desperate for drugs! (If you didn't know, he tried to commit suicide a few years ago.) I love how deep his songs go. He's saying he doesn't want to have to use drugs but everything is becoming so useless and pointless etc. etc. That he has no choice but to use them. Like that one girl said, atavan halen is a play on the drug ativan and van halen... do your research for crying out loud. So yeah, stop assuming everything is about girls and sex!
-
Pete wrote this song after his "suicide attempt."
He means to say that he's poppin pills because he wants someone and can't be with them.
((I love him btw)) -
I think this song is about how he's sad that the other chick ditched him and he is so in love that he is confusd and he will fuck any girl that wants to climb in bed and bag him.
-
The part that says "I'm going home alone because I don't do too well on my own" is about when he moved back into his parents' house after nearly killing himself
-
if pete is straight edge that means he doesn't do drugs, but he almost overdosed on atavan, so that ideology doesnt hold up, so it could mean that he is willing to sleep with anyone. ANYONE. I think that they are homosexual, there are many instances where lyrics suggest homoerotic innuendo, pictures, and commentaries from the band that support my opinion.
-
i think that this song is most prob about pete ODing cos it has the lines "I keep telling myself I keep telling myself
I'm not the desperate type" that suggest that although he does try to kill himself he doesn't want to be thought of, as desperate and needy.
i dunno whether this is true but this is what I got from the song. go_cry_ur_heart_out_til_it_bleeds x -
"Uhh, no, that's "I've got a dark alley and a bad idea that says you should shut your mouth" about the OD get the facts straight"
I'm sorry to say, but the song, 7 Minutes In Heaven is about his almost-OD-ing. If you read numerous articles, he wrote this song about almost overdosing. Dont forget the "Atavan Halen" part..Ativan (or lorazepam) was the drug. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
