Fall Out Boy: Alphadog Meaning
Alphadog Lyrics
Standing ovations or bboos
Watch until we blur,
Walk off into the sunset
Tell rock'n'roll I'm alone again
I want to pick the mid west home again
Your time has passed
They say never means never
Solar flare stares...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think that this song might be about how people used to think that they were going nowhere, but instead, turned out to be champions (Pete Wentz says in the little booklet thingy that comes with Believers Never Die "never again will we be underdogs") And how at the time of their first record, and believers never die, they both had a lot of fans ("welcome to the new deja vu")

2TOP RATED
#2 top rated interpretation:I think this song is fall out boy jokingly praising/mocking themselves.
"Clap until you hands hurt,Standing ovations or boos Watch until we blur"
There are lots of people who love fob but lots who hate them.
"Tell rock'n'roll I'm alone again I want to pick the mid west home again"
They've lost their originally punk-rock sound and now their new music is more alternative and pop-rock.
"Your time has passed They say never means never So the fast dance won't last"
FOB is losing their popularity and aren't as mainstream as they used to be, and the new music ain't gonna cut it.
CHORUS
Alpha Dog and Omegalomaniac are Patrick and Pete I'm guessing.
"Welcome to the new deja vu'"
All there music is starting to sound the same.
"I can almost see the wizard through the curtains"
Haters thinking that FOB doesn't even right their own songs.
"We must have the best coach,Tell the best jokes We must make it hard to look so easy
Doing something so hard You must see my way
that's when they look at me I'm a, I'm a star I'm a, I'm a star I'm a star Oh, I'm a star"
Basically praising themselves.
"You're not the first, or the last,
But you're possibly the prettiest"
There will be other bands like them, but they were the best.
"Whoa, he's a fighter, past his prime"
Again, FOB isn't as mainstream as they used to be.
LONG LIVE FALL OUT BOY! -
I think it’s about the hiatus (tell rock and roll I’m alone again, walk off into the sunset) and how fall out boy was “ending” (not really but they thought they were). It also about how the media vs the fans perceived them
-
This song reminds me of Warner's Bros. Pinky and the Brain. "What are we going to do tonight Brain?" "Samething we do every night Pinky. Try to TAKE OVER THE WORLD."
This was at the beginning of FOB. Pete and Patrick probably felt like they were about to conquering the world. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
I think this song means that they're expected to be the best, stars and awesome
just my thoughts though.
