Fall Out Boy: Austin, We Have A Problem Meaning
Austin, We Have A Problem Lyrics
For secret girls
Who never stood a chance in the world
I'm not ready for sincerity
I'd tell any lie to keep you listening
I gave you pretentious.
I gave you indifference, but you only wanted undressed and...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:This song, written after Fall Out Boy first played South by Southwest, is about how people expect too much of the bands, and how too much pressure is placed on them to sucessed. These bands are expected to do what the people in the suits are telling them to, but they don't nessicarily want to. This is Fall Out Boy's way of telling us what happens to these bands that end up on MTV. Someone along the line told them that "this and this" is going to be the next big thing, so the band makes it their thing, and like that, they are the new it band. They have all girls, the press, and the money. Yet, as soon as whatever was their thing is no longer cool, they drop ("I will die without all this attention")

i think this song is a bit complex:
We're pretty boys
For secret girls
Who never stood a
ch-ch-ch-ch-chance in the
world
-- for the author of this song, there's two kind of girls: the secret girls who likes the pretty boys and the girls that pretend hate them but they love them. the secret girls never stood a chance in the world because they're too timid.

We're pretty boys
For secret girls
Who never stood a chance in the world
these lyrics mean that they are attractive to girls who they imagine and make up how their ideal girl would be
I'm not ready for sincerity
I'd tell any lie to keep you listening
this part is about how they don't want pity from girls, they want them to like them, so they tell lies because they want them in their lives. that should start you off... -
I think the song means that pretty boys have a girlfriend that they keep from their parents..(Every pretty boy has a secret girl) or the boys like a certain girl a lot but they keep it a secret because they know they never would have a chance with that girl.
