Fall Out Boy: Just One Yesterday Meaning
Just One Yesterday Lyrics
chocking on their halos
get them drunk on rose water
See how I can get them
pulling out their fragile teech and clip their tiny wings
Anything you say can and will be held against you
So only say my name it will be held...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:I think it means two EXs are regretting breaking up, but they still aren't sure. One wants revenge and the other wants to be back together. The one who wants revenge is reballious and has gave up and just was depressed. The one who wants to be back together is saying that they hadn't done anything to ruin the others reputation...yet. When the one who wants revenge says stuff about Angels, Hell, and Heavan those are their depressing thoughts. Please no hate.

The lyrics are by Pete and it's clearly about his relationship with his ex Ashlee Simpson, probably about his actions that lead to them breaking up, but could be wrong.
-
It's about someone who clearly made a huge mistake and can never fix it or apologize correctly, they have to just live with what they did. He Possibly wronged someone he used to love and who didn't deserve it. This is why he says "If heavens grief brings hell's rain" he did something to someone and is living with the consequences.
"I'd trade all my tomorrow's for just one yesterday" he's so troubled by what he did that he'd give up everything to go back and not do it.
Other parts of the song lead me to believe that whoever he wronged is doing everything in their power to make his life miserable but there is still nothing he can do to fix it. -
I think this song means...
(I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday) He obviously made a mistake... he would die to turn it back. In the beginning of the song, he pretty much was being an idiot, but then he sort of realizes, but then changes his mind again... I know this interpretation was a bunch of BS. -
If heavens grief, the thoughts of the past can eat you up. And consume you, to the point you just want two do two thi ngs. Get back at him or her. Or are de pressed. I would know, last year I had this one girl I loved soo much, but the problem was she hated med so we socially ruined each other, and our lives became a vast waste land, barren. HELLS REIGN when you realize everything you love or held dear has turned against you. I go back to March 2017 all the time. And then you have 4 weeks to fix a years worth of damage done AFTER the break up but know it won't work. Her name Clara Gross I still never fixed it I qot the schools attention about what was happening, and they tried to bottle up the wildfire rage inside Clara. I figuratively shattered the bottle and watched as the whirlwind blew the emotional and mental he'll all across the school even kids in 7th and 6th even 5th either hates me or hated Clara. So yeah

It's think it is about two people who have broken up. The guy ends up depressed and wants to be with his ex and will do anything to be with her again, even if it's one day.
-
I think that this song is about him wishing he was with a girl again, because "if heavens grief brings hells reign" i believe means that if she wasnt happy without him anymore, then the tears will fall and she will hurt. "Id trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday", everyone knows. All in all, he wants to be with someone again, if only for a day.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

My interpretation of this song is that the guy and girl broke up. But the want their love back and would do anything just to have their love back. I don't feel as if its a religious thing. ( Yes they are talking about hell and angels. But I take it as a metaphor)

I think it's about two enemies who are fighting for the same thing hut fighting against each other, and that they secretly love each other.
