Fall Out Boy: Novocaine Meaning
Novocaine Lyrics
So put all of your anger on
In the truly gruesome do we trust
I will always land on you like a sucker punch
Singing I am your worst, I am your worst nightmare
I am your worst, I am your worst...

#1 top rated interpretation:I thinks it's about the band trying to get back at the bands that call themselves Rock/Emo (Cough 5SOS Cough) and telling them to stick with the actual type if music they make call it what it is and back off my style.

I think that the chorus could be referring at the way FOB has been treated since they changed their sound." Cast them out cause this is our culture this new flocks are nothing but vultures" i think this could be referring at the fact that many of their older fan's stopped supporting them since they changed their sound. "Cause they took our love and they filled it up, filled it up with novocaine and now it's just numb" I believe that it basically says that many people heard their new songs and hated them , basically throwing in the trash FOB's efforts to please both new and old fans. Maybe I am wrong but I think that it's a song that expresses anger which probably comes from this whole thing.

I believe is means after many bad attempts from ur past if being hurt and haven ur heart broken ur soul broken ur heart fills up with Novocain and u become numb to love ❤️
-
Basically the emo anthem.
-
Maybe it could just be a guy angry at something I mean look at the lyrics at the start very angry

I think it's about proper rock slowly being replaced with "rock". If you read the lyrics carefully they say stuff about things replacing things. For example, "cast them out 'cos this is our culture, these new flocks are nothing but vultures." And "they took our love and filled it up, filled it up with Novocaine and now I'm just numb." "Take this sideshow and all its freaks, and turn it into a silver screen dream."

I think this is about music, or rock music in particular. It's about artists who don't really know what they're doing, and who take rock music (FOB's love) and fill it with Novocaine (probably means all the modern and dull stuff). FOB doesn't feel anything about them because they aren't important enough, but they're angry about what music is becoming (maybe?). And if those modern guys knew what stuff they were singing, what rock music they were singing, then they'd probably have a very different outlook on it.

If you only knew what the bluebirds sang to you then you would never sing along. I think this about all the satanic artists that are out now. If you knew what they were talking about and what they've done you wouldn't sing along.

I think this song is about people interfering with two people who are in love by blowing everything out of proportion so that the lovers can't just enjoy each other's company and do what they want.
