Fall Out Boy: Rat A Tat Meaning
Rat A Tat Lyrics
Rat a tat tat tat hey
[Courtney Love]
No thesis existed for burning cities down at such a rampant rate
No graphics and no fucking Powerpoint presentation
So they just DIY'd that shit and they built their own bombs
She's his...

"like a little white church in the middle of the desert" I feel like this is an obvious reference to the November rain video during slash's guitar solo

I think the song is talking about looking back at life and how great it was and trying to say that everybody's expectations and high standards shouldn't exist so that everybody can live in the moment. They're telling people to remember them as they were when they were young and just lived but now they're aging but trying not to and they only have so much time to get on St. Peter's list. I think the lyric, "I'm a lonlier version of you, I just don't know where it went wrong" is where they're talking to a younger person and how FOB used to be like them, but something changed along the way. I also think Courtney Love's part is about a young girl who is an explosion and lived too much in the moment and she could be somebody who will go wrong when they're older (like FOB's part) and how the guy should run before it's too late because she's doing her own think and is a bomb of everything that's too much. I think the song also talks about how life isn't gonna turn out how you want it to be, so you might as well just live in the moment. I think it's talking about as "older" people (not young and reckless anymore) could tear apart the young reckless kids who think they're all that easily. It's talking about making the most of every moment until you can't.

I feel that is song is trying to try us do not wast time on stuff be for it to late live life with joy you never know when you life is about to end and you think about all the thing that you ever did in life!!!!. i am trying to say that this song is just do not wast your life and wast it on what ever you want ever one get one nut look at some people that do not have much of any thing and that they love ever thing. but they do not have much this is how i feel about this song and is what i really think no it is what i know that what this song is saying is ture do not wast any life and do not wast your life live it with ever thing you have. you never do know when ever thing can come to a end some people can think what ever about life and not care but then they get old and think what did i do. what did it show some time it can show when you lost it all you really know what life is and how it so be live with joy that is what i know and know what this song RAT A TAT is saying and telling you and showing you what it is abot.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that
'We're all fighting growing old
We're all fighting growing old
In the hopes
Of a few minutes more
To get on St. Peter's list
But you need to lower your standards
Cause it's never
Getting any better than this'
is talking about fighting for life and trying to make it to heaven, hence the St. Peter's list, but because of religions standards you shouldn't expect to make it there so its 'never getting any better than this' -
I believe that this song is about us trying to extend the number of our days in this life saying "We are fighting growing old in the hopes of a few minutes more" But fall out boy is trying to tell us that we need to "lower our standards" and just enjoy the present because it can never "get any better than this"

I think the song is about their comeback. "Are you ready for another bad poem one more off key anthem" meaning that are you ready for another one of our songs "remember me as I was not as I am" remember me before not now remember all the other things I did before not the things I did now basically a comeback
