Fall Out Boy: The Patron Saint Of Liars and Fakes Meaning
The Patron Saint Of Liars and Fakes Lyrics
And I'm holding on
To every letter
And every grudge.
I pulled myself out of the day we ever had to meet.
Are you through with me?
So...
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me
You're sorry with a...

A girl leaves her boyfriend for another (are you through with me?) And the Boy thinks the new relationship will go badly (When it all goes to hell) and wonders if she will apologize for leaving him (Will you be able to tell me sorry with a straight face?) But he'll listen to her even though it hurts (I'm all ears and I'm all scars) but he can still get her back easily for the things she's said (I still know the way to make your make-up run) But neither of them say how they feel (Take this to your grave and I'll take it to mine).

If any of you know who Anna is, then you'll know what this song is about. Those of you who don't, Anna was Patrick's long time girlfriend who ended up cheating on him. He was so in love, and she runied it. I'm pretty sure that's what they're talking about here.
-
Clearly, if you listen to the song, it doesn't say grudge.
-
1) It's "hanging on to every letter and every SONG" not grudge! 2) These lyric people forgot to add where it's sung in the background "Take this to your grave, I'll take it to mine." I love this song!
-
this song is so amazing. He talks about how she hurting him and how he knows how to hurt her. "I still know the way to make your makeup run" these lyrics mean a lot to me.
-
This songs about getting out of a relationship and not being able to realize that you were the one who fucked it up. Their trying so hard to blame it on the other person but in reality everyone knows what really happened.
-
I think it's about that damned girl who ruined Pete's life and how she cheated on him. How she doesn't mean it when she says sorry (And when it all goes to hell Will you be able to tell me You're sorry with a straight face?)And how he doesn't care if she says sorry cause he knows she doesn't mean it (I'm all ears and I'm all scars) Let me know what you think!
-
You people are retarded if you say it's about a relationship that went bad. We know that. They all are...
-
This song is obvoiusly about a relationship that goes bad. I think that the girl cheated on him or something (example: "are you through with me" and "when it all goes to hell will you be able to tell me your sorry with a strait face") Then I think she talks to the boy about how he sleeps around (example: "boys like you you try so hard not to look desperate")
It's also about how he's still hanging on even though she might not be and that he still knows how to get to her ("I still know the way to make your makeup run") Then in the end, it says they take thier feelings to their graves.
PS- if you've got any comments on this or think it's wrong IM me at beachsweeti9292 on AIM cuz I'm a HUGE FAN of FOB and always lookin for more to know about them. -
I think that they're convinced that they could hurt her, but yet in reality, they can't, she's too strong.
