The Take Over, The Breaks Over Lyrics

Baby, seasons change but people don't.
And I'll always be waiting in the back room.
I'm boring but overcompensate with
Headlines and flash, flash, flash photography.

But don't pretend you ever forgot about me.
Don't pretend you ever forgot...

    You guys are all lame!

It's about fall out boy themselves!!
    It's about Fall Out Boys's new image! In the video it shows all their old fans turning against them as they are not really playing what they used to play like;

" Baby, seasons change but people don't." - this is sayin how the music scene changes, but they are still real!

" Headlines and flash, flash, flash photography." shows how famous they are now!

"But don't pretend you ever forgot about me." even though people are turning against them, they are still FOB and they can't forget that!

I could go on.....just watch the video for it to get what I'm saying!

This theory came from an aaaaaaaaamazin friend ov mines that always talks about deeper meanings and rubbish, but she's acually pretty damn good!! =D

There talking about how people think that they've changed has a band and how they abandoned the style of music that they started with. And that there only doing it because its the popular style of music

"Baby, seasons change but people don't.
And I'll always be waiting in the back room."

There saying that there music changed but there still the same people and the same band. We'll always be waiting for our fans to return

"But don't pretend you ever forgot about me.
Don't pretend you ever forgot about me."

there saying even though we've change don't pretend that you don't like our style of music or that you hate us.

"Wouldn't you rather be a widow than a divorcee?
Style your wake for fashion magazines.
    Widow or a divorcee?"

Would you rather our band die out of pop culture or would you rather us change something little and keep making music. Cause if your not popular then you can't afford to make music

    "People will dissect us till
This doesn't mean a thing anymore."

People are turning against FOB because of necessary changes almost to the point where its not worth it anymore.

"Baby, seasons change but people don't.
And I'll always be waiting in the back room."

I think this means this guys ex-girlfriend is acting like she changed and he knows that she hasn't. But he will still always care about her in some way always, no matter what she does.

    "I'm boring but overcompensate with
Headlines and flash, flash, flash photography."

No interpretation needed here. He's a normal guy that gets all this press.

"But don't pretend you ever forgot about me.
Don't pretend you ever forgot about me."

Again no interpretation really needed. She acts like she doesn't care, or she forgot about him when he know that they were to big a part of each others life to not care or forget about each other.

"Wouldn't you rather be a widow than a divorcee?"

He has moved on from the person he was when he was with her so that person is dead. So she would be a widow rather than him just breaking up with her making her a divorcee.

"Style your wake for fashion magazines."

A wake is associated with a funeral. She helped with 'killing' that part of him which led to songs which led to him being in magazines and her being known for it.

    "We don't fight fair."

Rather than calling her up and telling her to her face about these songs (not just this one, but all the songs before it. I think it's his way of moving on and apologizing for it), he's going to make a song about it for public humiliation. She she has also done her part to gossip about him instead of going to him and talking about it.

"They say your head can be a prison.
Then these are just conjugal visits."

They can't stop thinking about times when they were together. conjugal meaning being together or married.

    "People will dissect us till
This doesn't mean a thing anymore."

You can take this two ways. The obvious, what we are doing now. Or people dissect them meaning to take them apart. If you take the couple apart then they won't mean a thing anymore because there is no them.

"We do it in the dark with smiles on our faces.
We're dropped and well concealed in secret places"

I'm not going to take the obvious sex here. I going to refer back to what I said before they think about each other before they go to bed, in the dark. They have smiles on their faces because they no longer have bad feelings toward each other. They don't tell anyone they still think about each other, and on top of that, that they are good thoughts. So they are well concealed in secret places in their minds.

This song isn't really about marriage/divorce. Those are both metaphors.

The girl he wants is with another guy. So he's saying wouldn't you rather be a widow (that one is pretty self explainitory) than a divorcee (her having to get rid of him). That's also what he means when he says "We do it in the dark with smiles on our faces" and "We don't fight fair". He's taking him out of the picture.

I'm almost sure this song is about a married couple who got a divorce, (Wouldn't you rather be a widow than a divorcee?) and the ex wife trys to cover up how much she misses him(Don't pretend you ever forgot about me.) by going into the modeling business. (Style your wake for fashion magazines.) She has a million thoughts about her ex running through her mind all day, every day, (They say your head can be a prison.) and masks it with a smile. Apparently, the couple is still having with one another (We do it in the dark with smiles on our faces.) on the downlow. (We're dropped and well concealed in secret places.)
