Finch: Grey Matter Meaning
Grey Matter Lyrics
It's so good.
Lie to myself while I lie with myself.
It's Monday and it's raining.
It's Sunday in the sun.
It's so good, but...
Would it be so bad,
if you were to pretend that you were so...
-
'would I bite my tongue and live with what you've done? just continue sleeping?'-i think he comtemplating what to do. This person has obvisously done something wrong and he's trying to work out whether he should bite his tongue and sit on the fence (metaphors for keeping quiet and not voicing your opinions. by asking if he chould continue sleeping means should he carry on be ingornant by not acknowlegding what happened. remember people....ignorance is bliss!! I think the line 'Would it be so bad,if you were to pretend that you were so happy?' backs up what I said as his thinking they could pretend it didn't happen as well and then everything would be how it was.
the referrence to the picture all around him on the ground could be him surrounding himself in the past of what there had.
