   Interpretation: When the world gets grim, everyone seems to be in favor of themselves. So even when humanity is disappearing, he is going to look out for you (or people in general). This could be directed towards a loved one, or anyone he comes across that holds their hand out for help.
   
   Afraid of what they might lose
   Might get scraped or they might get bruised
   You can beg 'em, what's the use
   That's why it's called the moment of truth, yeah
   Interp.: People these days are caring more about losing materialistic things and worried about how things could affect them. So even when your situation is just as bad as theirs or worse and you ask them for something as small as a moment of their time or a helping hand, their true selves will show and you will see what kind of people they are.

   Interp.: Basically he’s saying he will be that friend or loved one to stay strong for you and lift you up when you need it.

   Interp.: As hard as it is to believe that there is good people out there or there is someone who actually cares about you and loves you, there really is and he/she is always there.

   Interp.: Life is ironic and unpredictable, so many people start to lose faith because they were getting comfortable with the way things were going. What some people don’t realize is that you shouldn’t be completely comfortable with your life, without hickups in life how can you truly grow and be the wise person your parents and grandparents were?

   Interp.: The line about the stairs could mean people are hiding RIGHT behind their obstacles they need to climb but fear is keeping them there. Or he could’ve just been saying that to rhyme… Either way he is still saying that their fear is freezing them in a state where they feel safer. Again people are becoming more concerned for themselves.

   Basic message of this song: I think this song is directed towards more than one person, like people who ask for help and really need help when they have no one. It could be a love song towards one person you love, but the real message he’s trying to get across is that we need to be a soldier for everyone we care about. He didn’t make a catchy and great song just for us to listen to, he made it so we can relate to it and sing it to the people we care for and people we see having a rough time. He only talks about the faults in our world just to open our eyes, because there’s a soldier in everyone of us but sometimes we need someone to hold the mirror.
