Emenius Sleepus Lyrics

I saw my friend the other day and I don't know
Exactly just what he became
It goes to show
It wasn't long ago
I was just like you
And now I think I'm sick and I wanna go home

How have I been, how have you been
It's been so long
What have...

This song is about seeing an old "friend" and realizing how you've grown apart, how you don't like them anymore like you did when you were both younger, and how they're a jerk, and probably always have been but you didn't see it before because you were so close.

It could also refer to someone who's "turned their life around" (like quit using drugs, or whatever) and when they go to meet their old friend, they see what it's done to him and can't believe they used to be like that.

I think this is about a young man who leaft home and went to college or to get a job to do something on his own and one day he runs into an old friend of his and the friend is about to leave home when this guy is just realizing how good it is to be at home and how he wants to go back ("I think I'm sick and I wanna go home") and it has really changed him for the worse and he doesn't want his friend to make the same mistakes as he did.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This song is about someone whom you haven't seen in a long time, and when you do see them again you find out they have totally changed (obvious from the line "I saw my friend the other day and I don't know exactly just what he became")
