Green Day: Kill the DJ Meaning
Song Released: 2012
Kill the DJ Lyrics
in the new york city park
thoughts are so unholy
in the holiest of old
onward christian soldiers filled
with jiving mind control
The bull left on the dance floor
runnin' runnin' red
the bullet that you asked...

1TOP RATED
#1 top rated interpretation:Okay so Green Day has been taking shit on youtube for this song and people are calling for their heads because they "sold out" just because the song sounds a little less punk than their past efforts and it has the word dj in it. Honestly Im disappointed that people would so quickly dismiss the song without taking a deeper look into it.
The song is not in anyway endorsing the party scene. I mean when has Billie ever meant something positive by "In the holiest of holes onward christian soliders Filled with jivin mind control". The song is calling out how society today (for lack of a better term) sucks."My pocket full of pills Sodom and Gomorrah
In the century of thrills" Then in the chorus "someone kill the dj" is calling for an end to our senseless and substance less behaviors and return to caring about whats going on in the world.
So people who are turning on Green Day calm down. If you heard the song 99 revolutions to be released soon you will agree this is still our green day. Just because an album sounds different is no reason to abandon a band.Don't get me wrong Uno will never come close to American Idiot or Dookie but its not an end to all things Greenday. Sorry if you just came for an interpretation and not a sermon :) but it had to be said
