Song Released: 2015
Love Myself Lyrics
I feel it deep inside without you, yeah
Know how to satisfy
Keeping that tempo right without you, yeah
Pictures in my mind on replay
I'm gonna touch the pain away
I know how to scream my own name
Scream my...

#1 top rated interpretation:Well the lyrics say "...I'm gonna touch the pain away..." and "...I know how to scream my own name Scream my name..." and also "...I'll take it nice and slow. Feeling good on my own without you, yeah. Got me speaking in tongues...", "...Gonna love myself, no, I don't need anybody else. Can't help myself, no, I don't need anybody else. Anytime that I like...", and finally "...Anytime, day or night..."

in an interview, Hailee stated that she made the song and left it to people to interpret it. To Hailee, the song is about loving oneself and it's also about boosting confidence for all the young girls. But she said that she left it to her fans to interpret on however they want, so if you want to think of it as "self love", that's the meaning behind the song. If you want to think of it as "masturbation", then your free to interpret it that way. I think she wrote the lyrics in the way she did because she didn't want the song to only have one meaning, she rather let the listeners listen to the song with the meaning they understand or relate to more.

Its about being able to sy you can Love yourself wether tha being Emotionally Physically or With Material things.
-
Well “got me speaking in tongues” is what confuses me as she’s talking about the Christian Pentecostals who believe that the Holy Spirit is speaking through someone through tongues and that’s the Spotify explanation of that lyric
However the rest of the song does show that she’s referring to masturbation -
Self love I think.
-
I think it's supposed to be a play on words. I think she means to "love yourself" in any sense of the word (both emotionally and and pshsically) as long as it doesn't hurt anybody. There are no wrong interpretations of this song. I think it was meant to push the envelope.
-
Stop being so nieve... .... we all know what this is about.
-
I think the song has too much of a double meaning that its kind of hard to decide what it is about. Maybe she did it this way because she wanted to keep everyone on their toes. But if it is about masturbation, well, it seems that nineteen year old girl likes to sing about her self-inflicted pleasurable moments. Soooo, whatever.

Hailee is such a beautiful young woman.
I think it is a shame that the song is about
such a intimate topic. Something like that should be kept to ones self. Too bad the song
is so catchy. How can she sing it without reducing herself to a mere object of lust. -
Y'all need to stop pretending she wrote it about not needing anyone it's obvious what it meant.. Stop being so NIEVE . ITS ABOUT MASTURBATION STOP
-
I feel like it has the wrong message, honestly. it isn't about love who you are. its exactly about the tag, its a shame because its so catchy. :(
-
I think there are several different meanings possible. 1- Because of the lyrics, yes there is a possibility it is about...you know (don't feel comfortable saying it...sorry) and 2- It can also mean love yourself for who you are and that you don't need anyone else to love you.
-
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
-
Masturbation
-
It means to love yourself for who you are and you don't need anyone to make you feel better.
-
I mean like why can't people see it as just a catchy song about a girl not needing a guy to make her feel happy or beautiful. That should have come first guyzzz
