Imagine Dragons: Ready Aim Fire Meaning
Ready Aim Fire Lyrics
-
I think it does mean the revolutionary war because an empires falling in just one day, which the British had a great empire with king George. And the beginning has the sound of cannons and sounds like bayonets clashing and If you check the history of the war with certain acts such as taxes with tea, paper, and sugar or perhaps the intolerable acts which caused the colonists to rebel against the empire and this could be the battle of the Delaware river when Washington crossed it and they fought the British to push them out.

Reminds of the America revolution, perhaps on the battle of bunker hill. If you listen you can gun shots in the background with swords clashing-bayonets in the Revolution.

Did you forget this is for Ironman 3? If you have seen you will know what it means, the song means.

To me the song "Ready aim fire" is about a man in war fighting for his life, focusing only to complete the mission that he was orderd to do.

" When you think you are invincible, and nothing is going to be able to " mess thing up ". Then, in just one day, all the thoughts and beliefs you believed in, the invincibility, it all shatters, you get thrown in the middle of a messy situation that you have to fight with every ounce of your being to get out of. None of the ways before you are easy, neither are they safe and painless. But you keep on fighting to get out, because you rather suffer and fight that to let the situation get the better of you. "
The song relates mainly to war and fighting, but it has context in everyday life as well. We all had the times we thought " this is good, nothing can mess this up, i have made it ", only to have all of those things go away in a short span of time and having to give it our best once more to get out of that situation. -

"Hey Mr Motion"
Guy who started the whole movement
"Make me a potion"
Tell me why we are doing all this
"Shake it all up with your mystery"
Don't tell me all the actual details because I may become disillusioned with the cause. -
the first time i heard this i thought dang, this is good. it made me think of halo where it said with our backs to the wall the darkness will fall we never quite thought we could lose it all. in halo earth is doing great and living carefree until it just all falls apart in one day, an empire falls in just one day, i close my eyes and the glory fades. then earth is almost destoryed and earth is trying to fight of the attack, but its just two much so they flee. but after more listoning i thought of world war 2 on the U.S side. they would rather die then do it hitler's way. this is just what i think don't yell at me if i'm wrong.

Well, i looked up who Mr motion is, apparently he's the stationmaster for ticket to ride. But... i feel when he says " hey Mr motion, make me a potion, shake it all up with your mystery.", i feel, hence, i said FEEL, that Mr motion is supposed to be god. doesn't it make sense? Mr motion? God? the mystery is supposed to be the mystery of god(or what ever pagan 'gods') world. though, i'm pretty sure Imagine Dragons isn't a christian band, to me it makes most sense. But that's what I feel. so don't come crying to me if i,m wrong.

This song, READY, AIM, FIRE, reminds me of the Holocaust, and when he'd rather do his way than the other guys, and how new people keep coming in. Well, what I am trying to say is that he is a prisoner, and that he is gonna be shot, and he is daring the soldier to shoot him.
And also, how he's in the tunnel, and how he's on a mission to save the Jews, and... well, you get the picture. -
"With our backs to the wall
Darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all"
I always imagine soldiers here, soldiers that were caught and are in danger of losing their lives.
"Ready aim fire,
Ready aim fire,
An empire falls in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades"
These soldiers know that their country, while it may be strong at the moment, won't last forever. The empire will fall quickly because the glory of it won't last long. It'll fade away too fast.
"Off in the distance
There is resistance
Bubbling up and festering"
Someone/thing is rebelling. And others are joining their cause.
"Hey Mr Motion
Make me a potion
Shake it all up with your mystery"
I'm pretty sure this damn lyric is supposed to be confusing, man. The reason I'm on this site is to figure out what this lyric means but apparently there isn't any meaning to it.
"How come I've never seen your face 'round here
I know every single face 'round here"
Pretty obvious, yeah?
"A man on a mission,
Changing the vision,
I was never welcome here."
I feel like this is the answer to the question asked beforehand.
"We don't have the choice to stay
We'd rather die than do it your way"
The soldiers, remember? They've shown that they're caught and they're saying that they won't stay around and help. Listen closely to this part of the song and you'll see it says stay, not say. Just saying.
"Checking the casing
Shaking and pacing
This is the tunnel's light"
The soldiers might've gotten out and are about to fight or they're about to escape. They're worried. They're checking their weapons and they're shaking from nervousness and pacing restlessly. They know that whether they escape or they get through the fight they're in, it's as good as it's gonna get. The tunnel's light.
"Blood in the writing"
This line deserves to be explained by itself. The soldiers could be themselves speaking (writing) or someone else could be. But it's too dangerous, blood will spill if whatever is spoken is done.
"Stuck in the fighting
Look through the rifle's sight"
The soldiers can't get out of this, they have to keep shooting (this is a good reference to 'this is the tunnel's light')
Then it's done.
Of you're being really nitpicky, the solo thing is bringing out the background noise, the crashes and the shouting. It's just accenting the whole soldiers thing. -
