Ready Aim Fire Lyrics

With our backs to the wall, darkness will fall. We never quite thought we could lose it all. Ready, Aim, Fire! Ready, Aim, Fire! And empires fall in just one day. You close your eyes and the glory fades. Ready, Aim, Fire! Ready, Aim, Fire Away!...

To me, this song has so many plausible meanings. It just depends on how you feel. I listened to it so many times and I get so many ways to understand it.

It sounds like a revolt almost. "A man on a mission, changing the vision" "I was never welcome here" "we'd rather die than do it your way" "here in the heckle, holding the shackle" also he may be in a gunning line up. "Backs to the wall" "ready, aim fire" also on the non lyrical part I can hear people shouting, kids crying, and swords hitting. Maybe it's like a war senario? This is just my theory.

I think it represents Half-Life... I mean the lyrics really relate. Also, a less likely but good suggestion that it relates to is the C'est la vie ending in Metro: Last Light when D6 is destroyed to end the the ambition of the Communists, 'Close your eyes and the glory fades' relates. 'An empire falls in just one day'. Just my opinion.

I think it refers to a last stand , with the "empire's fall in just one day" and "We never quite thought we could lose it all". This may just be because I've been playing it a lot recently, but It makes me think of Diablo 3. "With our backs to the wall, darkness will fall." Humanity is backed against a wall by 'darkness'- in this case , demons. Or I could just be reading into it too much.

I think it's about standing up for what you believe no matter what the adversary throws at you. "With our backs to the wall, darkness will fall" this is like they are getting attacked but evil will still die. "We'd rather die than do it your way" this is my favorite line! And it just states it.

    Really good song.

Everyone has opinions, so here is mine:
I think it truly does relate to war, I mean, the lyrics. Its just pointing it out and standing right there.
Example: "Ready, Aim, Fire." >I am giving up, just make this end.< Okay. So do you see my point yet? "With our backs to the wall, darkness will fall." Here we go. A real teaser. >When you surrender, it ends.<
"We never quite thought we could lose it all." >They were so built up in themselves, filled with selfishness, etc. That they never thought they could be overthrown *Overtaken, Overpowered, etc.*.
As soon as I heard this song, my first thought was "Assassins Creed III (3)". Anyone else?

I would like to sujest a link between this and the American civil wall or civil wars in general. Ready aim fire is an old comand for musket troops. Empires fall in just one day showshow will power and love for a cause will triumph. Also the line "of Iin the distance there is resistance" shows how a rebellion starts. The song is about a man protecting all je has ever known and is willing to fight for it. I could right an essay on this but I think everyone finds a different meaning in all songs. I encourage you to relisten to the song and interpret the music for yourself. It is a brilliant song.

I interpret the lyrics to depict a soldier, his fellow fighters, and a despairingly strong enemy. But, the lyrics that really appealed to me were as follow: "With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall," seeing as people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) often need their back to the wall to ensure that their back, and their blindspots, aren't vulnerable. (Also, veterans often return from traumatic experiences with PTSD.) I had been questioning why I needed my back to the wall when I discovered this song and conducted research on the topic. I self-diagnosed myself with PTSD, only to have my suspicions confirmed by a certified psychologist. I'm not advising self-diagnosis, or implying that you have PTSD just because you have a need for your back against the wall, I'm simply explaining how I interpreted this song's lyrics and why they appealed to me.

This song is indeed about the Iron Man movie. I think it's a beautiful and powerful song. The lyrics are about an outstanding person who wants to protect the world around him, but it's starting to close in around him. He's very committed to his cause and will not back down.

I think no one really understands meaning anymore. It's said that every artist creates something that they hold true, a deep thought, or a truth they wish to be told.

Think closely of the words they have chosen. Could they just have written this song for fun? Or could they have written it because they know something? In these days, everything is not what it seems, there is truth behind everything, just wake up and seek it.

With the words that stand our the most, why would they write, "Empire's fall in just one day", "With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall", "We'd rather die than do it your way", "A man on a mission, changing the vision I was never welcomed here," and "Off in the distance, there is resistance".

    Just wake up and think.

It was written for Iron Man 3. Watch the movie and you'll know what it means.

I am almost poitive this song is talking about a war. The song is sung in a soldier's view, they are cornered (with our backs to the wall), and they are giving up everything to fight against the dark, invading force.
