Imagine Dragons: The Fall Meaning
The Fall Lyrics
Maybe I’m wrong
I could’ve spoken sooner than I should have
Only the good die old
That’s what they told me
But I don’t know
Maybe I’m breaking up with myself
Maybe I’m thinking I should just keep to the things that I’ve...

In this song, Dan Reynolds is writing, in part, to his wife. He wrote "The Fall" after cleaning out, what he called, the clutter in his life. I think that's what the first verse is about. After he had wiped his slate clean he realized that what he knew for sure was that he loved his wife and daughter. This is echoed by the lines,
"Do you know?
Do you know?
You're all I know.
You're all I know."
He is saying when everything comes crashing down, his wife was the main thing he was certain about. Because of her, he could handle "The Fall" and the uncertainty of life. -
There are many correlations with the Buddhist teachings. for example, the symbol of the letting go "ready for the fall" and the monks using the orange or reddish colors on their robes to symbolize that fall, that let go of everything,... it is the peace mind, the realization, and acceptance that we all die. The fall is saying ... to enjoy life, now in this moment! with the simplest acts of living in the moment...like... breathing. let go
"I'm ready for the fall
I'm ready for everything
That I believed in to drift away
I'm ready for the leaves
Ready for the colors to burn to gold and crumble away" -
I believe the singer is trying to convey what life is without Jesus, or god. "When everything, comes crashing down...your all I know..." maybe before everything came crashing down...or when it all "Fell" he had nothing to belive in.

For me, I feel the narrator of this song is expressing the "re-discovery" of his relationship with Jesus. The Fall being end times, end of the world, with His return. If you've listened to all the previous songs on the album, it seems his is close to losing his fragile faith. If you listen to the song and read the lyrics coming from that frame of mind, the whole song makes so much sense...at least to this listener.
