Imagine Dragons: Thunder Meaning
Song Released: 2017
Thunder Lyrics
Just a young gun with a quick fuse
I was uptight, wanna let loose
I was dreaming of bigger things
And wanna leave my own life behind
Not a yes sir, not a follower
Fit the box, fit the mold
Have a seat in the foyer, take a number
I...

Hate to say it. Its a great song. But this is a clear satanic song. Speaking from the perspective of lucifer, the fallen angel himself.
Satan, lucifer, is known by many names. Satan means "adversary" and he is called the "rebellious one".
The story of Satan's rebellion against God should be well known to everyone. And these are the poetic verses (perhaps a tribute to him also) of that rebel.
A famous line spoken by Jesus in the bible goes..
"Behold, I saw Satan fall from the sky as Lightning..."
And thats what he means when he says "Lightning before the Thunder." Its almost literal. The Thunder is the current rumble that Satan causes on all our lives. Blinding us and deafening loudness that blocks hearing the Word from our hearts.
The music video is what made me realize it. The demon like creatures. But more so the lambs (symbol of Jesus) and sheep, the people.
The pyramid structures in the video and all the symbolism is clearly a shout out to pagan gods and beliefs.
Satan was a "young gun" with a "quick fuse" (having rebelled against God) and certainly wants you to "let loose." Satan also dreamed of other things, leaving his assigned roll. Leaving his old life behind, to reign as Satan here in this world.
In the second verse, it says "kids were lauging in his classes" while he was "scheming for the masses." What kind of rockstar says he was "scheming for the masses"?? If that just means he wanted to be famous, he could of said it differently. Who are these other kids?? Laughing..so they must be happy. The other angels. That stayed by God's side. Of course they are laughing. -
I think the song is referring to him/them being less of a talker and more of a doer. Instead of sitting, talking and laying low he always wanted to get up and do what he wanted. He said he was "lightning before the thunder". That's the usual case in terms of weather but I think he was differenting himself from people as .. Unlike them who had their thunder (talk) first he had been carrying out his plans and doing things. Afterwards he says "Feel the lightning AND the thunder". Hes saying here that now he's both. He can afford to talk because he's done what was necessary to get where he is and is still doing it.

Translate if you speak english:
Pienso que trata la vida de alguien que ahora es exitoso, un cantante famoso por ejemplo, que cuando era niño lo retenían, que era como un relámpago y cuando tuvo éxito se convirtió en "trueno".
Mi opinión del video es que los espectros que se ven son como los malos recuerdos que a uno lo atormentaron antes, que ahora puedes bailar con ellos, que ahora aplauden con la "nariz sangrando"
que puede interpretarse como que ahora es admirado por los que antes se reían de él. -
I'm a Christian - and I can relate with the entire song's lyrics and overall playful/triumphant vibe..HOWEVER, what the actual fuck is with that video?! How can the lyrics and vibe please me on a deep personal level all while the video disturbs me GREATLY.

A shot at the Mormon cult. Obviously "who do you think you are, dreaming about being a big star" is a reference to not going on a mission for "the church" the demons in the video in a slightly modified salt lake city Utah are obvious..... how can no one else see this.... they have thrown this out there in other songs already....
