Leonard Cohen: Going Home Meaning
Going Home Lyrics
To where it’s better

Going home
Without my burden
Going home
Behind the curtain
Going home
Without this costume
That I wore
I love to speak with Leonard

A song about talking and preparing oneself within The Higher Power to hear It's call when the time comes for ''Going Home''. Always [r.i.p] Leonard Cohen and thanks for all the music.

Leonard is about 74 years of age, and this song is so appropriate to a performer who has spent his entire life on stage, giving three hours of his life at each concert. A Canadian raised in a Jewish home, nevertheless his Catholic nanny must have had an influence on his to the extent that he mentions, often obliquely, the life of Jesus, the Cross, the sacred heart. And this song, Going Home, is certainly about the end of life, perhaps his performing life, but I suspect its about his earthly life.

En excellent expression of a man who knows his time on earth is almost done...sounds like he's ready to leave...
