    So, he speaks about going under and fearing that there's no one to save him from possibly being sad and depressed. The person probably said it is either all or nothing and he feels that if he loses that person he may lose himself as well. Later in the song in the chorus he says "I was kinda getting used to being someone you loved" so this indicates that the person is probably done with with him and has had enough and later he says how the person pulled the rug when he wasn't just getting comfortable so this probably means that he usually doesn't trust a lot of people and when he does they usually pull the rug and let him fall and sort of creep up on on him like a predator. This song is about someone who is very hurt and they feel as if they don't or can't have that thing whether (love, drugs, etc) they will die or be depressed forever and they will never find another person who "numbs" all the pain.

    I think it's a song about someone who's depressed because of love. This someone has been stuck in the friend zone and failed to express his feelings to the one he loves. Now that bond is broken and left in suspense and he's now alone and feels like he'll never love anyone like her

    lewis capaldi is one of the greatest singers ever. he had just broke up with someone he loved. he said, "i am used to being someone you loved," he doesn't get loved anymore so he feels super lonely. he thinks there is no one there to save him and it is driving him crazy. "i kinda liked how you numbed all the pain." he produces such great music, it makes me smile:)

    I think this song is about drug use making him feel good, but it's hurting the person he loves the most. He knows the drugs are destroying his relationship. He feels misunderstood, as do most drug users.

    I think that this song is about suicide because it talks about someone who leaves the "victim" of the breakup and the "victim" commits suicide.
