This song is dated. It wouldn't be written now. The wild side is probably wilder now but is more crack whore in the gutter. I guess it had a bit of shock value by telling the world about aspirations of people coming to the NYC and how close to the edge and on the wild side they were. How times have changed. Lou Reid has also got older and wiser. He's a NYC man.
