Macklemore: Irish Celebration Meaning
Song Released: 2011
Irish Celebration Lyrics
-
I think this song, as an Irish person, is disrespectful. FOR ALL YOU AMERICAN FOLK: IRISH AREN'T ALL STUMBLING BARBARIC DRUNKS. We take pride in our heritage and our work. We have good educations and I think Macklemore is like all Americans: trying to steal the 'Irish Glory' though he's probabally about 0.5% Irish. The shit nowadays, lord almighty. :(
-
I think the song is disrespectful 'Fuck the London Guard' - Most of us get along with people from the UK these days/don't care. The song is about him trying to show his 'irish roots' usual american heritage stuff
-
I think he's just interpreting his roots and how proud he is of being Irish I mean c'mon who wouldn't. He knows his Irish history 'fuck de London guard' so he's proud of his heritage 'rather be a Haggerty' im irish and rather be a Doherty lol
-
This song focuses on the fact that macklemore has rose from being an alcoholic to being sober and In this song he is basically celebrating his sobrity and how being Irish and how Irish people are know for drinking he is celebrating those hypocritical people
