Down Lyrics
He got the letter they're gonna take their house away
I'm 'bout to have a daughter he yells it in the air
Feeling the weight of a world that just don't care
He lit a cigarette felt it on his...

First Verse: Regret and shame keep us from feeling the love of God. The world doesn't care when we're "up against the wall". No one hears us when we scream. Sometimes this leads us to all we have left (the only real thing)...shouting HALLELUJAH (a thousand praises to God)..It's all this man has left. Forgiveness doesn't just come in the form of repenting our mistakes, but loan forgiveness too. Debt can trap us and build up a wall between happily living and drowning in sorrows.
This first verse gives us a situation that most people overlook. When we are actually trapped by debt, feel like failures, and have no way out, we ask God:
"Can you hear when we call?"
"Are you there when we fall?"
"Can you see my back standing against the wall?"
The writer of these lyrics goes on to say that "we all need forgiveness"...that's all we're really searching for. -
I think this song is about how when we think everything is going wrong we don't think God is with us or cares about us but He is always with us and the hardships we gp through is to make us stronger in Him
