Meghan Trainor: All About That Bass Meaning
Song Released: 2014
All About That Bass Lyrics
I'm all about that bass
bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
bout that bass
Yeah it's pretty clear, I...
-
I know that most girls are trying to be nicer than most people are on this site talking about what they think Meghan is trying
to say -
I think it means that its okay to be fat because someone will eventually fall in love with you.
-
The post below is getting a low rating but only a few key words were changed from one extreme to the other big/small, skinny/fat stick figure/whale, more/less........ maybe it is the spelling? "Skinney"??
size two - twenty-two
boom boom - tight tush
junk - stuff
little "more" booty - little "tight" booty
stick figure silicone Barbie doll - whale, Moby Dick tale
sexy - booty
skinny - fat
fat - skinny
All the nice things in the song are still there but just changing these few key words and the song is negative? -
I changed a few words around so I guess it still means that you are perfect......... I'm sure no one will be offended.
Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size twenty-two
But I can move it, move it, like I'm supposed to do
'Cause I got that tight tush that all the boys chase
And all the right stuff in all the right places
I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop
We know that shit ain't real, come on now, make it stop
If you got beauty, beauty, just raise 'em up
'Cause every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top
Yeah, my mama she told me "don't worry about your size"
She says, "Boys like a little tight booty to hold at night"
You know I won't be no whale, Moby Dick tale
So if thats what you're into, then go 'head and move along
I'm bringing sexy back
Go 'head and tell them fat bitches that
No, I'm just playing, I know you think you're skinney
But I'm here to tell you...
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top
Yeah my mama she told me, "don't worry about your size"
She says, "Boys like a little tight booty to hold at night"
You know I won't be no whale, Moby Dick tale
So if that's what you're into, then go 'head and move along
Very positive I think. -
Being fat is a disease. You will get sick younger. You will get arthritis younger. You will die younger. You will be a burden on your family. You will be a burden on society.
-
You don't have to be a silicone Barbie doll to be loved or have relationships and stuff with guys.
-
If u chubby u ok because boy like a little more booty.
-
Initially when I heard this song I thought what a great, positive message to send to women. However, as I really listen to the lyrics, she's still pitting one size or body type up against the other. Yes she says she's joking when she call the girls skinny bitches, but she also calls thinner girls "stick figure silicone Barbie dolls". I think it's a beautiful thing to love the skin you're in, but not when you have to tear someone else down to do it. Clearly she's not comfortable in her skin it she wouldn't feel the need ridicule anyone with a higher metabolism than her. Why is it socially acceptable for larger people to make fun of thinner people. But if thinner people make fun if larger people it's mean and insensitive? That knife cuts both ways.
-
Bass = Big Ass.
I think the skinny silicone Barbie doll is referring to those girls who have eating disorders or are under the knife just to be "pretty". The ones who are killing themselves to match an image in a magazine. I do not think she is referring to the girls who are genetically thin. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

It's a song intended for women who don't fit into the stereotypical skinny Barbie body to feel good about themselves. "Bass" is not intended to be the word "ass"; but instead a metaphor for women who are curvier. As is "treble" for women who do fit into the so called Barbie mold that the media proclaims as the epitome of beauty.
Be Proud of your body!
And I'm sorry if the skinny girls get offended, but ya'll have enough media telling you to be proud of your bodies. And I understand about body type disadvantages. My hips are set so wide that no matter how much weight I lose to try and fit the mold, I will still have a black girl booty on a white girl body. -
this song is not about u r perfect the way you are. It is about saying that men only like you if u have a big ass. She tries to cover it up and make people think that the message is that everybody is perfect. The message is that skinny people r bitches. "im gonna shake it shake it like im supposed to do" she is saying that she has an ass to twerk, show off and get guys with
-
I believe she is purposely trying to diss skinny girls. She is saying its okay to be fat, don't worry about it. I get her point on saying everyone is perfect, but you cant turn back around and say "boys like a little more booty" and "skinny bitches" and "silicone Barbie doll". that's just my opinion. I'm naturally skinny and it hurts just as much when you hear stuff about being skinny just like it hurts when heavier people hear jokes. I just think she needs to be clearer on her message. I love the song besides that.

I think this sing is using "bass" as a way of hiding the word "@ss". The song is clearly talking about "booty" and not worrying about your "[boob] size". Trainer is trying to encourage girls with booty size. Plus, try entering the a-word everytime she says "bass" and it makes sense.
