My Chemical Romance: I Don't Love You Meaning
Song Released: 2007
I Don't Love You Lyrics
Don't ever think I'll make you try to stay
And maybe when you get back
I'll be off to find another way
And after all this time that you still owe
You're still a good-for-nothing I don't know
So take your gloves and get...

I think the song makes way more sense when you watch the music video....There's a pale girl dressed all in white, and a dark man dressed in black/gray. I believe the girl in white is supposed to symbolize purity, and the dark man courting her is symbolizing that he's taking that away from her, which he realizes, so he wants to stop hurting her. Which means he has to break up with her. So the "When you go, would you even turn to say 'I don't love you like I did yesterday'" is her asking why he's leaving her. [i know it's probably wrong...but its my interpretation, remember :D]
-
I think this is something about Gerard's relationship with Eliza Cuts, his previous fiancée.
-
I think this song is just about how someone found out their lover had done something awful, violating the relationship, which could be that the lover has cheated on the other,or just lied about loving them,so they are saying '' I don't love you like I did yesterday'' because yesterday they thought the lover was being faithful and loved them.It could be that the lover has problems admitting that they don't love them anymore, and they are questioning if thewould they have the guts to tell them the truth about why they are leaving them. I don't think there is abuse, I think the person is saying abuse is not the solution when they say'' so sick of tired of all the needless beating'' but they are saying that if someone was to beat their lover, they should get the point that what they did was wrong, or in his case if he's angry, not get up at all, because he is '' baby if they knock you down and out, its where you out'a stay. '', and the rest is just pretty clear from there.

In my opinion, the song is about someone who falls in love with a prostitute, but he doesn't know she's one. And he finds her "working."
I think that they have a conversation.
"Well when you go, don't ever think I'll make you try to stay. And maybe when you get back, I'll be off to find another way"
This part of the song makes me think that he or a friend hired her just to see if she would recognize them. He then told her that he was him, and told her to never see him again.
"And after all this time that you still owe, you're still a good-for-nothing I don't know. So take your gloves and get out. Better get out while you can"
I think here the woman is ashamed that he found out, and then tries to turn the tables. Then she tells him to get out of the relationship now while he can.
The chorus is obvious, he's over her.
Maybe in the next part, she promised him she would stop. "Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading" but she doesn't, and one of her 'clients' beats her a LOT, and leaves her to die.
"And after all the blood that you still owe, another dollar's just another blow.
So fix your eyes and get up. Better get up, while you can."
I think that this is her conscious, telling her to change her life and be with the one she loves, or die in a second rate motel.
Then at her funeral, the man forgives her, and tells her he'll never forget her. His love is stronger than it ever was for her, he loves her more than he did yesterday. -
The song is about the patient's lover. She was mad at him because he had cancer and was going to die. The patient looks back and is mad and sad all at once.

''Well when you go
Don't ever think I'll make you try to stay
And maybe when you get back
I'll be off to find another way''
The first verse is about a woman who always threatens to leave him, and he doesnt bother stoppping her because he knows that she will return to him when she comes home from work, but on this occasion he is going to shock her by ending the relationship for good.
''And after all this time that you still owe
You're still a good-for-nothing I don't know
So take your gloves and get out
Better get out
While you can''
the lines ''And after all this time that you still owe, youre still a good-for nothing i dont know' suggest that they wasted alot of time arguing and he doesnt recognise her anymore.
''so take your gloves and get out, better get out while you can'' suggests that he wants her to leave because he knows he is capeable of harming her, and he doesnt want to beat her anymore.
''When you go
Would you even turn to say
I don't love you
Like I did yesterday''
Basically means, he has thrown her out and she still loves him. So he is questioning whether she will say 'i dont love you', cos he knows that she still loves him.
''Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading
So sick and tired of all the needless beating
But baby when they knock you
Down and out
Is where you oughta stay''
The lines ''Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading
So sick and tired of all the needless beating'' suggests that he cant control his own anger and get upset with himself because he hits her, and 'crys so hard from pleading' suggests that he is begging her not to wind him up because he knows what he is capable of.
'But baby when they knock you
Down and out
Is where you oughta stay' suggests that when she is knocked out, she cant wind him up so he cant hit her no more.
''And after all the blood that you still owe
Another dollar's just another blow
So fix your eyes and get up
Better get up, while you can''
'and after all the blood that you still owe' could mean that he has self harmed because he cant control his anger so he took his anger out with self-harm, blaming her it.
not quite sure what 'another dollars just another blow means'
'so fix your eyes and get up, better get up' suggests her crying on the floor after he has beaten her, or her being off her face on the floor to try and mask the pain.
'while you can' is a strong line cos he is giving her chance to escape the horrible broken relationship.
''When you go
Would you have the guts to say
I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday''
Basically means, he is daring her to say 'i dont love you' because maybe she used to say it to wind him up.
its not that good but its what i got.. -
Maybe he's thinking about his relationship with his old drug addiction and alchohalism in the form of an abusive relationship whereas he's the woman and the drugs are the abusive man... Think about it..

Well, when you go
Don't ever think I'll make you try to stay
And maybe when you get back
I'll be off to find another way
And after all this time that you still owe
You're still the good-for-nothing I don't know
So take your gloves and get out
Better get out
While you can
When you go
Would you even turn to say
"I don't love you
Like I did
Yesterday"
Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading
So sick and tired of all the needless beating
But baby when they knock you
Down and out
It's where you oughta stay
And after all the blood that you still owe
Another dollar's just another blow
So fix your eyes and get up
Better get up
While you can
Whoa, whooa
When you go
Would you even turn to say
"I don't love you
Like I did
Yesterday"
Well come on, come on
When you go
Would you have the guts to say
"I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday"
I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday
I don't love you
Like I loved you
Yesterday
Could someone interpret these lyrics? I love this song and I would really love to know the meaning of the song. -
This song is about him in hospital trying to get better from taking a shitload of drugs and alcohol.
Well when you go (when the drugs go)
Don't ever think I'll make you try to stay (he wants to get better)
And maybe when you get back
I'll be off to find another way (when they leave, he'll find them again, but hopfully he has the logic to not go on them)
And after all this time that you still owe (the drugs took up a lot of his life, unconsious or whatever)
You're still a good-for-nothing I don't know (they don't do any good.)
So take your gloves and get out
Better get out
While you can ( Boxing gloves - the drugs beat him?)
When you go
Would you even turn to say
I don't love you
Like I did yesterday
(he's talking to himself, asking if he's strong enough to say goodbye to them for good.)
Sometimes I cry so hard from pleading
So sick and tired of all the needless beating
But baby when they knock you
Down and out
Is where you oughta stay
(Pleads with the nurses tryna help him. Sick of being thrown around by the drugs. When they make you go to sleep he thinks it is better than being awake because of the pain.)
And after all the blood that you still owe (Fucking up the blood when drugs are injected in)
Another dollar's just another blow ( Wasting money just to get the tiniest bit more)
So fix your eyes and get up
Better get up
While you can (self-explanitory)
THE END. -
It's about someone not loving the other person like they used to..(:
-
He's definatley talking about his alcoholism and drug iussues. i mean he did love them at one stage. so he's singing about his struggle to get over them.
-
your all right. it is about a relationship.i think this song is that the two met one day. they loved each other, but then the girl is about to go, the boy wanted her to stay. so the boy cried so hard. he really wanted the girl to stay. he cant forget about the girl even if he's saying he doesn't love her. so when the girl went back to him, the boy doesn't want her anymore. so as the video shows, the girl cried but the boy doesn't love her anymore.
-
I think this is more of a song about how the patient feels he needs to detach from his love ones by telling them he doesn't love them that way he won't regret passing on this would explain "cancer" where he takes it back but saying he won't kiss them because though he has cheered them up a little by taking it back he still would not like to get attached making it harder to leave
-
I think it's about a guy falling out of love with a girl and it's from the girls point of view, the boy doesn't know how to break up with her so he does it in a rude way instead of saying I don't love you like I did yesterday... I tried.
