Natasha Bedingfield: Recover Meaning
Recover Lyrics
Got so many scratches and scars,
Maybe they wont all go away,
But they'll fade,
Maybe time can mend us together.. again.
Its not what we've done but, how far we've come.
We will recover
The worst is over, now....
-
To me, this song is inspiration and help during anorexia/eating disorder recovery. And can be about any sort of mental illness really! The words: 'The worst is over now' are so true if you think about how it gets easier but doesn't feel like it. The worst being when you were most sick. Also, 'scratches and scars' could refer to self harm, which comes together with EDs. The words: 'We will recover' are simple, but implying 'we' makes you feel less alone and it makes recovery actually seem possible. This song could have been Natasha's way of calming both herself and others :D and carry on being strong..
