Nelly Furtado: All Good Things (Come to an End) Meaning
Song Released: 2006
All Good Things (Come to an End) Lyrics
Honestly, what will become of me?
Don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really, life is dandy
We are what we don't see
We miss everything daydreaming
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things...

#1 top rated interpretation:I believe this song is written about a girl who lives in fantasy because accepting reality is just to difficult,She's had to many dissapointments in her life so fantasy is less painful.
She's asking her lover why do all good things come to an end? Lovers to friends? Basically why does this always happen.
She claims when she travels she always stops at exits. I believe what she is saying is that when it comes to relationships she always stops at the ones that she knows will eventually end. Unavailable men(subconsciously she chooses).
When the dream (fantasy) comes to an end she pulls away..She doesn't cry all she feels is gravity. She is sad, but not as sad as if it were real..
She realizes living this way life is passing her by and wonders when will it all stop. When will it die. When will
something change. -

#2 top rated interpretation:My feelings on this song are that the future is uncertain. Be Happy with what you have now because it won't last. Life is full of ups and downs. Things and people come and go all throughout. But the question still remains " Why do all good things come to an end?". We stand around living life the best we can things changing all around us hoping for one last day so we can die happily " The dogs were whistling a new tune, Barking at the new moon, Hoping it would come so they could die".
-
It's hard to analyse this song because it's lyrics are too random, loose and deep.
-
what do the dogs barking meen??
-
I think this song is about two passionate lovers who slowly fade until there is nothing left. The lyrics are random and deep but they lead me to think that there is a love story behind them.
