About a Girl Lyrics
I do... with an ear to lend

I do... about you have a clue
I'll take advantage while
You hang me out to dry
But I can't see you every night
Free

I heard that Kurt said he wrote this after listening to the Beatles, but this song is about his relationship with Tracy Marander. This song is about how bad the relationship became because Kurt didn't want to get a job, and when they argued about it, Kurt would threaten to move into his car.
-
It is about Tracy, it is about how they were having problems and fighting a lot and about how he still did love her. “But I can't see you every night free” is that it isn’t all good, some nights they fight. You know, free is like were it’s fun or good.
He feels he isn’t really good enough for her and that he doesn’t fit that well into her life: ”I'm standing in your line, I do... Hope you have the time, I do... pick a number too, I do... keep a date with you” -

It could be about his girlfreind wantitng to get married. In the lyric "free/I do"
that could be concentrated on marriage. As before a man gets married he is free
and when he gets married he says I do. -
The song is about Kurt's girlfriend see they where dating and she told him to get a job or get out. That's why he says I can see you every night for free he would some times have to sleep in his car I think something like that.
-
Yeah, but she didn't threaten to kick him out she just said to get a job because he was living off her. I just wanna clear that up.
