Marigold Lyrics

He's there in case I wandered off
He's scared 'cause I warned
He's scared in case I want it all
He's scared 'cause I won

(chorus)
All in all the clock is slow
Six color pictures all in a row
Of a marigold

He's there in case I wandered off

I think it’s about fake friends,
“He’s there incase i won it all”
I’m sure the band had a lot of encounters with people trying to be their friends because of their money and fame, but that’s just my thoughts.

This is one of my favorite Nirvana songs. I was watching a Foo concert and Dave said that he wrote this song while living with Kurt. And that Kurt had pictures of Marigolds on his wall and some pet turtles that would keep trying to get out of their bowl but they just kept falling back in. Idk what that means lol- I think it might also have to do with Kurt’s mental health and their friendship...

I have heard that this is about suicide and the lottery. I think these could be true, but to me this sounds like a song about either a relationship or friendship. This one is hard to interpret though... I think it’s wonderful though

marigold is a song written by the drummer, Dave Grohl.
And this is technically individually his song, which is why he played it on the acoustic foo fighter album skin and bones. Otherwise there is no interpretation here because cobain didn't write it. Sorry.
