Nirvana: Milk It Meaning
Milk It Lyrics
i don't need a host to live
we feed off each other
we can share our endorphins
doll steak
test meat
look on the bright side suicide
lost eye sight i'm on your side
angel left wing right wing broken wing
lack of...

#1 top rated interpretation:I am my own parasite - I am consuming myself, completely dependent on myself, without another means of support. Very lonely. Further - We feed off each other, we can share our endorphins. He's his own parasite, no host, empty, he is a self sustaining "Doll," a product, he and those who would consume him can share their endorphins, including us, the fans who probably asked too much. Doll steak, test meat - what he's become, he's there to be consumed, a commodity no longer human. He's processed. He's meat. Perhaps the chorus is stream of consciousness, but seems to be lucid enough in documenting his utter loneliness, isolation, depression, addiction, coping with his loss of his humanity, the suicidal contemplation, the physical drain, being pulled every direction, eventually broken, and when he tries to chill out, to escape, even go into rehab, the scent (possibly of heroine?) is still there, beckoning. It could also just be the scent of the monster that his life has become, this endless mass that would consume him... Milk it for all its worth, right? Milk him, the band... Just a thought.

It's not about any of those things...... you all missed the point. It's about other bands meeting the status-quo to sell records and charge high prices for concert tickets.
I am my own parasite ( The Band )
I don't need a host to live ( Record Company )
We feed off of each other ( the fans )
We can share our endorphins.. ( the experience )
this is about his relationship with the music and his real fans who came to see it performed.
He literally made an obnoxious song ... to make a point that he make music for .... the sake of making great music with emotion and feeling.

It's about smoking crack.

Nirvana is considered by a good population of people to have been influenced by occultism. There's a crescent moon with an upside cross on the back of the album and he mentions twice that his ex is a witch and literally wants to see if she'll sink or swim. A common belief in satanism is that all spiritual warriors gets wings in the after life. he mentions the angel left wing and the right one broken. the left hand path is worshiping the dark side of god aka satan. he has lost eyesight. obituary birthday a concept of reincarnation where you die on your next birthday. Hence Cobain's planned suicide.

I think he's using the parasitism metaphors to discribe a disfunctzional, codependent relationship... and the chorus might be a random collection of grossness/ discribe a stream-of-conciousness sort of thing/ generall theme of sickness and weakness.
I particularly like the last sentence "Your scent is still in my place of recovery!"... As in, the person escaped from the "parasite" and tries to recover from the effects of it all, but can't really get rid of her... -
This song talks about adictions and dependence not only on drugs but with everything and about people who don't have opinions anymore.
"lack of iron and or sleeping" probably means that he feels tired and weak in probably because of his medical condition, lack of iron could also mean that he's too weak to keep on going and that suicide is becoming a brighter way out of it.
Anyhow, it is very difficult to know what kurt was talking about, he has a very peculiar writing style where yo can take a lot of conclusion or none from. -
I think this songs is about Kurt's problem with drugs,,and this time Courtney had help them to finish the problem..it reflected in"her milk is my shit.....".It probably means that Kurt had addicted with drugs...and also Courtney..he loves Courtney so much.."we're feeding each other"
