Nirvana: Oh, The Guilt Meaning
Oh, The Guilt Lyrics
She seems too weak
She takes a week to get over it
She likes the sea
She likes to see
She likes to think she has to alter it
She likes the sand
She likes the sand
She likes to stand, she can't afford to sit

I don'the believe the song has a really specific meaning, but it could be interpreted in different ways. A really interesting characteristic of the song is its outstanding wordplay. In the way it is sung it is not distinct that the word "sand" -for instance- is not "sound", like the previous one. From what I have read by interpretations of other people in other sites is the fact that a song could possibly talk about a person that cannot dedicate their time to something and they do many and many things in their life, so that they can'trust enjoy it, since they never "sit". That'said why they may feel guilt about that and regret for how they wasted their lives restlessly in too many things. The person seems to like to "sit" or the "sand", but they always have to go. And that was their own choice during their life. However, if the song was interpreted literally, it could also be perceived as if the person in the song wanted to do some things, but they didn't have the money to "can't afford".
