    Sounds like it is about a wasted life due to the sort of procrastination that results from the mental state of a fragile and directionless mind as well as the natural and artificial emotional highs and lows of life. The highs are expressed in the optimism of ‘one more day’ and lows as ‘it’s over.’ Additionally the lyrics reflect a highly polarizing/bipolar attitude towards life...

    I think Kurt is talking about Toby and how she is able to read his mind (metaphorically of course) and he is the same as her.

    He thinks he is almost at his point of happiness.

    but then at the end he doesn't like where he is and wants to go back to where he was (before he got old I guess)
