Leigh Kakaty states that the song was penned in the midst of a difficult time with the former record company for the band, when the ensemble didn't know their future path. Kakaty stated that the song is directed towards those who have been pinned to the ground and are still determined to succeed. Indicating that staying ahead is becoming more and more difficult, the band made the statement "WE ARE HERE AND AREN'T GOING AWAY!"

They said that their new album was going to be about overcoming challenges in life. And this is a good opening song to go with that theme. It is about testosterone and fighting and all the stuff. And the guy who said its gay is clearing calling the song gay to over up the fact that he, himself, is homosexual.

sounds like a bunch of homo's going at it lmao
"get in where u fit in"
"going head to head"
"give you back your toung"
"hands on the ground"
"can you handle it?"
"take you down"
sounds pretty gay to me lmao
