Queen: Radio Ga Ga Meaning
Song Released: 1984
Radio Ga Ga Lyrics
I'd sit alone and watch your light
My only friend
Through teenage nights
And everything
I had to know
I heard it on my radio
You gave them all
Those old time stars
Through wars of worlds
Invaded by Mars
You made 'em...

#1 top rated interpretation:The song is about all the crap music that was coming out and the TV music stations.

When drummer (Roger Taylor)'s son was new to talking, he had said "Radio Caca" to Roger, and he took that to add to the second meaning, looking back as he was at the age to do so, what he had become and what his band had become.
(I saw that none of the interpretations mentioned that inspiration had come from his son as well so I felt the need to add this) (And I believe it was Felix Taylor, maybe 2) -
Music today has turned to complete shit and they felt the tide starting to change even in the mid 80s.
"We watched the shows, we watched the stars
on videos for hours and hours
we hardly need to use our ears
how music changes through the years"
The old great music you could feel in your heart and soul...compared to the goo goo "gaga" pointless head bobbing music shit, we hear on the radio today. -

Remembering the times when Radio was like a enlighten godly friend for Freddie Mercury and the people that had the power to entertaine our imagination that came through the airwaves. Like the 1938 Orson Welles War Of The Worlds alien invasion of the Earth that came through the Radio. Unfortunately caused panic attacks in some people 'cause it was believed to be actually happening, but for most it was a good entertainment. Compare to the times in 1984 when Radio was losing it's importance to promote good music and imagination, only getting more Goo,Goo,Ga,Ga luney tunes. Yearning for the Radio to make a comeback in the future, which it did a little in the present time with Conservitive Radio.

Wow! If you've read any books about Queen or watched documentaries on the band, you would know that this song is about how radio is in jeopardy of becoming obsolete due to MTV and VH1. They are reminiscing and pleading with the radio to not go away. They believe that the radio has not even come close to reaching its peak. They are letting us know that the radio will prevail despite all.

roger taylor wrote this song when his son said rado caca and he thought it s quite catchy.

Lady Gaga got her stage name from the Queen song, 'Radio Ga-Ga', when music producer Rob Fusari compared her singing to that of Freddie Mercury.
I read this on Wiki answers, thank you.....all credit to the guy who wrote it. -
@Littlemonsterforeverandalways
please, I read it somewhere on the internet. Lady Gaga choose her Alias because she is a huge fan of queen. So she choose to use the name "Gaga" because this is one of her favorite Queen songs. -
@ anonymous
Gaga got her name from and auto correct saying lady not radio Radio gaga was her theme -
