Queensrÿche: Silent Lucidity Meaning
Silent Lucidity Lyrics
Wipe away the teardrop from your eye
You're lying safe in bed
It was all a bad dream spinning in your head
Your mind tricked you to feel the pain
Of someone close to you leaving the game of life
So here it is another...
-
It's about dreaming a negative dream.
It's only a dream and it's not real for you.
If this happens in the future, talk to your future spouse and fix your problems. Love your spouse and kids. Stay with them through thick and thin.
If you are single, there is nothing to worry about because it's not real. Don't be negative and think the worst scenario.
Reading the interpretations -
I AM GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE.. AND I AM SO SAD ..BECAUSE IT WAS MY SOUL MATE.. MY LIFE LONG PARTNER.. JUST UP AND LEAVE A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY of 2 kids... OF 21 YEARS.. UNEXPLAINABLE.. HEART BROKE.. HOPING THERES FAITH AND HOPE FOR I.. I dream all these dreams so clearly like they are happening and I wake up alone.. more dad than ever..
-
Ive often felt this was God our father, speaking to me as his child l, comforting me and continues do so even 50 years later..
-
The interpretation is multilayered, and as most works of true art,are subject to individual interpretaion.
I lost my husband one year ago, and when I met my future love, I listened to this song and took comfort in knowing by husband was "smiling next to me"! -
im a Vietnam vet who has a lot of bad nightmares and lack of love for others and angry most of the and this song gives me hope we Vietnam vets will finally get set free. We were not treated good at all on our return and none of us will never forget the thousands who never returned. Maybe when we die we'll be at pease.

I have always loved the song never really knew the words. Being said I just lost my daughter 8/14/18 to an overdose & this is the song that gives me some sense of peace. I could listen to it over and over.
-
My sister was murdered when I was a child. This song had come out shortly before. I remember the vivid dreams and nightmares I would have. To this day, this song reminds me of her. I picture her by my side through everything I go through and have gone through. It’s a reminder that one day I will see her again.

My fiancée passed away in a drowning accident 27 years ago. This song was popular at the time and was the last song he heard before his death. I listened to Silent Lucidity over and over. It gave me much comfort in that he was watching over me. He came to me, still does, in my dreams and it gives me the feeling of our continued connection.
-
To me it's affirming that there is hope to find a more fulfilling and true love after having to let someone go.
-
Beautiful song, to me the meaning of this song is for the living to know that the person that has passed will be there, and our mind to accept them leaving, very heartfelt song.
-
This song is clearly about tacos... Not really... Well sorta. It's about being on the tour bus and having the runs from eating tacos with too much lava sauce. It's likely the song was written while in the act of dropping off the Obamas at the white house. The name of the song indicates a significant level of intoxication as well as a sense of irony, as the explosive flatulence was loud enough to terrify the band's cocker spaniel and inspirational enough to write a song about it. Can't argue with the results. What a great song.

This is a song of saying the mind is strong and u have control. To not be afraid to explore anything is possible and yet if afraid their either ( loved one or maybe God) will be there to help guide them in the dream. I believe in after life as well as astral travel. To me either could be used for the purpose of this song.

When I first heard this song I immediately said this is a song I want played at my funeral. I want all my loved ones to know that I'm watching over them along with god.So that when they fall asleep they will see me in their dreams in silent lucidity.

When I was going through Ketamine Infusions to get off of Opioids (doctor Prescribed) the lyrics of this song especially the last half are exactly what it was like. When you "under" you go into a kind of dreamworld in your mind and you can control what is going on and while you're doing it you tell your mind the drug is leaving your brain and no longer has control and you can see it "dying" and you can stop the panic and you know your safe. The dreamworld is almost indescribable you're on this incredible journey in your mind that is like nothing you've ever seen before and your in charge of it. The Infusions also works for PTSD and depression. I haven't heard this song in many many years and just heard it again today and couldn't believe how much it parallels what happens with the Ketamine Infussion treatments.

I think it's about dreaming of your future, realizing that you do have the strength that's been there this whole time & being brave enough to go after those dreams. Don't just plug away & watch others living their dreams but start living your own.
