Rascal Flatts: Summer Young Meaning
Summer Young Lyrics
Army green jacket that was in my trunk
It didn't fit, you didn't care, a little chill was in
The air and you were just warming up
You smiled and we sang
I wanna thank the band, whoever...
-
The song tells a couple's story, they're remembering beautiful memories made during the summer when they were younger and falling in love. The guy is thanking the band for playing their song, and the stars for lining up and basically for it being a perfect night. And he says it's true there were a lot of memories made that night, the kind when you remember you don't ever wanna let go, but that nothing will ever compare to what they felt that summer.
