i could be wrong but i believe the 'midnight hands' is society as a whole and its norms. rise against is saying that we have become to judgemental of our own people and we pressure people into things thst they may not like doing. there are always decisions in life and i think rise against is trying to say we neee to support everyone in their own decisions as long as they are happy, and not to just think about ourselves and our own happiness. they're saying they support everyone in their own personal decisions. i believe when they say "you dont have to do this but i forgive you if you dont" they are acting like society by saying you dont HAVE to make these decisions, but you should. lastly, when they say "eyes open slowly as the dust is shaken off to gaze upon the wreckage the midnight hands have brought" i believe its an outside visitor or viewer viewing the destruction we have brought upon ourselves, possibly a god or something of the sort? overall its a cry for fairness and individuality in my mind. like i said, i could be wrong
