   Two people have had feelings for each other for many years but could never be together. Perhaps the girl is stuck in an unhappy, loveless marriage, where she has money and a big house and is living the "American Dream," but is too afraid to leave. Despite her undying love for him, she feels like it's too late and they will never be together. The guy hasn't given up though, been waiting around for her, hovering around like a satellite. He's trying to convince her that it's not too late and they can never deny their feelings for each other. She's scared to leave her current life, but secretly only wants him. They're planning to run away, be together, and finally be happy for the rest of their lives.

   I believe this song is about a guy and a girl who are trying to escape from certain people who control their lives. The world is evil to them, and by a fire, the guy plans for them to escape at sea and begin their lives again.
